No new planned Profession for the next expansion.
Third Profession slot wont happen.
-Enchanting drop recipes (Like Ulduar) aren't planned in advance, they might be added if they feel some enchants are missing in the game.
-Archaeology is being looked at to make less grindy, possible means for doing so could be daily quests or random encounters that popup while digging, such as an skeleton for example, that drops a large amount of that item at once when killed.
-Engineering devices are going to be upgraded but the problems arise when they become as strong as a class ability in terms of damage, in turn pushing Engineering to the must-have prof. Possible solution might result in stronger devises but not usable in pvp/pve at all.
-Jewelcrafting 'perfect gems' are unlikely to make their return since they devaluate the non perfect cuts to much. Possible to include JC in the 5.0 chaos orb concept to give back some of the uniqueness to the profession rather then just being AH/Addon slaves.
The latter also goes for Inscription to some extend.
From the global WoW Q&A:
-With ranged slots going away totally its likely that enchanters will be able to craft new (epic) wands since they swap to the mainhand slot.
- No planned change for profession bonuses at this time, the min-max (gathering profs) problem is known but they want a profession to feel cool, not mandatory. Being looked at but no promises at this time.
- New craftable mount is in the works, Ghostcrawler: "Maybe Jewelcrafting.."
