"Midas Touch" eh? We have a company out here called "Midas Brake and Muffler", so naturally that name brings the thought of oil, brake pads and mufflers to mind but I will for sure try to find it! At $11 per 1 bottle (in the states) I'm not sure if I would be a 6 pack but would for sure try at least 1! I swear it's cheaper to drink beer than water in the US as opposed to Canada.

Also, I will steer clear of any and all "double bock chocolate stout" beer!

Anyway, be careful, don't drink it too fast. It is a 10.5% abv, so it is quite a bit more potent than an average beer. Not only that, it is a great idea to sip it to get the entire spectrum of flavor.

Heh, I'm from Eastern Europe. That % doesn't scare me. Will try it out (hopefully today) and report back on that :P

If you're into Brown Ales (Gulden Draak isn't one obviously), try to get your hands on Rogue Hazlenut Brown Nectar. It easily sets the standard for a Brown Ale.

Have never seen that one, ever. I don't exactly live in the beer capital of the world, I'll have to look for like specific beer shops or smth to find stuff like that. What country brews it?

I know the Brits love their brown ale.

Ok, that prolly means I'm not going to try anywhere in the near future.

Only American beer I've seen around here is Miller. Which I use as the cheaper replacement of Corona when I feel too cheap to shell out for the latter (costs more and has less volume).

My biggest surprise ever was Lindemans Frambois. It is a raspberry beer that is quite suited for a dessert

As for a scary/crappy experience, I hated the one pumpkin ale I tried.

I have had 1 pumpkin ale, wasn't bad, not too spicy or over "pumpkiny" flavored. Quite mild, it was like drinking 1/2 Budweiser, 1/2 Pumpkin Ale. Rather enjoyed it. Couldnt see enjoying drinking enough of it to get drunk off of though.

As for lighter beers to suggest, Franziskaner and Unibroue's Blanche de Chambly are both quite good.

I think I'm gonna have to write a bunch of these names in "notes" on the iPhone. Nothing like showing up to a house party/friend gathering with some weird looking/sounding beer in hand that you actually enjoy. "Moosehead" being one of them. Has that stuff migrated to the US?
