[Megathread] Final Fantasy XIV

I'm already level 40 on my Ninja and only returned about a week ago. Its definitely faster now, dungeons reward almost a whole level when duty roulette queued, heck even Guildhests are now worth doing to get 1/5 of a level in 5min.
The Challenge log helps out alot aswell. Suppose that the +50% XP from having a level 50 job helps out ofc, but even without it i think its way faster than when the game first launched.

Hoping to reach 50 this week and starting to see the new content since 2.0. I'm both excited and dreading the pugs that will ensue for some gear / main scenario quests but i have time until the expansion so i know i'll get it done eventually.

So Nico Nico's new years thingy has announced that 2.5 "part 1" will be released on January 20th

I had to guess, it's going to include Eureka (the last part of crystal tower) and the new dungeons and primals fights, I have to guess part 2 will be the system changes and bring the main story back around to going to Ishgarde

It'd be nice if part 2 they made it so that you can do stuff that's not in Ishgarde itself like make an Au Ra or start playing the classes as long as you have a Heavensward flagged account

end game you have high level dungeons and extreme modes for primals (you have to unlock some by beating the previous ones) you also have the 3 binding coils of bahamut as the raid content for the game. the first coil has 5 instances while the next ones have 4 each. in order to progress in the coils you have to bea turn 5 to acces 2nd and t9 to acces coil 3. you also obv have pvp although i havent done much of that and treasure hunts as a way to get gear and some minions. another grind you can have is by making your relic weapons wich work like a legendary questline in mop for each of the classes

Most of the big stuff will be in the January patch. 3 dungeons, Odin, Gilgamesh, final Crystal Tower wing, Hildibrand conclusion for 2.0, and a 'mystery trial' which no one really knows about yet.

February will probably have the intermediary patch that will have Gold Saucer (and the comeback of Triple Triad) and another relic step. The last part will just be a pre-expansion event and storyline stuff.

So with ultimate game card gone is there another way to pay for the sub without a credit/debit card? I don't understand the point of the 60-day game time cards as it seems they're only available online if I'm not mistaken.

You can buy Game Cards at GameStop and also at Best Buy. If your worried about Identity Theft - You can pay your subs online with a pre-loaded Visa or Mastercard picked up at any box store or Walgreens but they do cost an extra $5 when you first buy them (ie a $50 loaded card will cost $55).

The item I look forward to a lot in 2.5 is the DX11 client!!!!!! It looks soooo beautiful!!!!

That's when it destroy my GPU. Or utilize it more than when it's CPU bottlenecked.
I'll probably upgrade my computer when Skylake comes out and maybe get a 970 or 380x or whatever comes out.

It has no ETA but said close to finish. 2.5 will come in 2 parts (2.5 and 2.51), and since the DX11 was demonstrated at the patch 2.5 interview I am hoping it will be in one of the 2 patches

A tie between the Machinist, new playable race and the Gold Saucer.

Yes, something similar.

It will be like a in game "casino area", where you need to use gil to buy coins that is used in Golden Saucer, and you can use the facilities within using those coins, but those coins cannot be reverted back to gil.

Oh and even the music is the same as the Golden Saucer in FFVII.

If u got a games too near you they can print off 60day codes for $30

I think since it is a cross platform game, they are the exact same.

It's just that the PS3 is played at a reduced quality, and doesn't keep up in performance in some area's as the PS4, or lower-end Desktops in comparison I think.

You can upgrade the PS3 Game license to PS4, I think for $10.

I already got a normal ps4 copy I was looking to buy just for the sound track and the other goodies and the authenticater and digital stuff. Be awesome if I get the ps3 version it gives game time lol

I say if you found a physical copy (even if collectors) probably get it... couldn't find none (not even standard edition) in several retailers I went to Yesterday so I said f it got a PSN gift card n got a 60 day game time code printed on receipt from gamestop

I assume you play on PS4? not sure about redeeming the collectors edition code(s) on ps3 will carry over to other platforms other than that simple upgrade option (especially if using the code on already created account)

Ya I was going to order it via Amazon the ps3 version will cost me $66 the ps4 will cost $92. If the digital goods and all carry over to the ps4 I'll get the ps3 version
