I had 87 wpm after 3 tries (phone call messed up the first 2), with no mistakes. i went back and corrected like...3 words or so, i should have just left them as i could have spelt another 6 or 7 in the time it took em to delete and type again. I know i can hit 100 easily.

i also only type with 4 fingers (both index and middle fingers; but mostly just my index and middle on my right hand and my index on my left). I never learned to touch type at all, and i never really learned to utilize all of my fingers when typing.

as a gamer, i did learn a lot of my 'hotkeys' at a young age. trying to type fast in between spell casts on certain games, having to quickly hit potions or w/e other hotkeys i had in diablo 1 and 2 and other RTS games i played. i attribute it all to my gaming years.

its really weird though. i know word patterns on the keyboard, so i know when i type "THE," muscle memory will just type it out. I don't necessarily know where the keys are, i couldn't reconfigure my keyboard if all the buttons popped out, and for the life of me, i cannot type in the dark very accurately. even so, very rarely do i look at the keyboard to type.

in stress situations, when im not thinking about actually typing, and im just doing it, im completely fine. back in college, if i knew what i was going to write exactly, i could write out a 2-3 page paper in 10 minutes.

    I got 94 wpm, 471 keystrokes, 91 correct words, 1 incorrect (I double spaced >.<)
Its annoying because everytime I mess up I pause for an almost complete second and fix it. I get thrown off real easy. Also, laptop keyboard if anyone cares >.>

Did 78 on my first try, made a couple of mistakes which I go back and fix, so that takes a bit of time away I guess. Guess I could push 90+ on a good day, when not tired. Not a native speaker either btw.

wpm 99, keystrokes 516, correct words 100, wrong words 2. Wouldn't put the result on gaming, that's mostly just using mouse and/or some rather shallow number of keys. Writing stuff like documents or code on daily basis is a whole different story though.

115 WPM. Been typing since I was young and I've had no formal training whatsoever, my technique is similar to the home row technique they teach at schools with some deviations. Also, not a native speaker.

87 wpm w/ 1 mistake... I find it harder typing out random words rather than sentences, but I guess the simplicity of some of the words makes up for it. I also spend ~14 hours a day in front of a computer screen, so I suppose I should have a little to show for it!

I got 93 wpm with 498 keystrokes. Usually higher but got thrown off a bit by my keyboard and the scroll (for some reason I didn't think it would automatically scroll up so I was looking at the second line when it was on the first for a few seconds and had to backspace so it wouldn't count as wrong).

I would go faster if the words made sense, like if I were typing actual sentances but 74wpm.

The people who type the fastest, that I've seen are software engineers and other people who work with computers.

    70. Not too bad given that I made tons of mistakes, am tired, and don't really type properly (my middle three fingers on both hands do all the work and sort of go about randomly....)

I've learned to be very good with the way I type, from writing and IMing a lot.

107, 3 wrong words, stupid sudden capitalizations of word(s) made me get 3 wrong words. Sure, I get that America should be spelled America but it's so annoying. :<

First one was 77 3 mistakes. Tried a couple of times and made it to 87.

Things that helped me: Playing wow, being a piano player (not that much help really)
Things that didn't: My native keyboard is cyrillic (yeah I can type just as fast on cyrillic too), I can't focus very well, open window and 0 C outside

All in all I wish I could be just as good as some guys in this thread just to brag about it but oh well

    I got:

    WPM 73 / 81 (2nd try)
    Keystrokes 402 / 427
    Correct words 75 / 79
    wrong words 4 / 3

Edit: Lol, tried it in swedish (native language). Got 35 (!) wpm. Guess it's because I have to reach for å,ä and ö all the time which are to the far left on the keyboard. I'm also used to writing on my computer in english instead of swedish.
