Upgrading hardware in an Apple desktop....

I knew people would flip out and make really silly accusations and what not, to those people I say, learn some tact. I asked a yes or no question, not a "please beat me up throughout your answer." I know enough about computers and have built a couple from the ground up myself, you don't need to treat me like I'm an idiot. I specifically said that I just wanted to confirm whether or not you're able to update hardware in an Apple or not and have it work.

To the people who answered politely and provided information backing up their claims, thank you, my friend will be most appreciative.
