Sorry Deltrus. I just took a SS when the notice popped up and made sure the link was valid. I'll update in a few days once I get my OC higher. Thank you for taking the time to maintain this thread. It's interesting to see some different oc's and opinions.

I'm stuck at 4.6 ghz :s Whenever I put it at 4.7 ghz and up the vcore, my screen just stays black, and I have to clear my CMOS every time.

    Does anyone know what's up?

...screen just stays black? What, it won't even post? That can't be right.

Yep, nothing happens. Just a black screen and a flashing monitor LED...

Might sound a bit obvious, but how much more voltage are you giving it?

    4.6 was stable at 1.35 volts, 4.7 won't even boot at 1.45v

1.45V is very high. Try 1.36 or 1.365 first. Go up 0.05 if not stable. I would try to boot with 1.35 first though.

Nothing happens, black screen, doesn't post.

    Is Internal PLL Overvoltage enabled?

After messing around a bit more with the settings, I've reached 5.0 ghz at 1.390 volts. Boots to desktop easily, but can't get it stable. Bumped it all the way up to 1.44v, still not stable.

Any tips? Should I be changing some more advanced settings?

Added Cyanotical and Marest, sorry for the delay guys.

And as of right now, the following has been added to the first post, sorry to any who were planning on using it, but it is just causing too much unwanted drama, so I'll remove it altogether.

INTELBURNTEST HAS BEEN REMOVED. ALL WHO USED IT IN THE PAST HAVE BEEN GRANDFATHERED IN, HOWEVER NO MORE ENTRIES WITH INTELBURNTEST WILL BE ACCEPTED.

That sounds typical. There's no guarantee that you'll reach 5.0GHz at ~1.45V on a 2500K. I can only hit about 4.8GHz on my 2600K at that voltage w/HT. You could bump down your CPU PLL to 1.7 or even lower in an attempt to control temps. You could drop VCCIO to 1.0V as well Lowering your memory clockspeeds will almost always reduce your core temps as well since the adjacent memory controller won't have to work as hard. The issue here is temps aren't what kills your CPU overtime, but electron creep caused by the high voltage itself.

    Are C3/C6 states turned off?

Let's see if we can get this stable, shall we?

Do with this what you will, but OCCT = IBT = LinX = Linpack.

Folding isn't as thorough as prime either, and it's still on the list

Oh I know, and agree. For the record I think the thread is fine the way it is since everybody is now subject to the same rules. I just wish people "in the know" would choose Prime95 27.7.
