Even the razor method is hardly risky if you have a brain between your ears, i watched a 5 minute video and did it easily in 20 minutes. The TIM sure is bad under there, but another part of the issue is the glue they used lifts the spreader up a bit too i guess.

You must admit that it's pretty damn pathetic that consumers have to split the CPU apart and reapply thermal paste because Intel can't be bothered to place it right with high quality thermal paste.... I can't wait to test Haswell, don't dissapoint me ! :P

Too bad you can't read that Worker stopped after 8hours 5minutes with the max temps readable? Oo.

The problem isn't with the paste, The glue elevates the IHS a few mm thus not touching the die.

    Oh yes you can.

If you have Prime showing each thing it completes, it will have the time on there, trust me. :P

Not going to give you shit over it, but why not run your CPU at 100MHz BCLK? Or is it just some glitch that is out of your control?

Also, if you can't get 5.1GHz stable "no matter the voltage"... try turning on Internal PLL Overvoltage.

Well, congrats to Shroudster on being the new #1 and first 5GHz+ IB on our charts, you are the new standard! And the delidding certainly helped!

spread spectrum enabled is more stable for me. (and allows for the lower voltage)
as for the prime thingy im lazy i wanna see the summary of how many tests in what time

edit: PLL overvoltage on from the start

If deltrus would make a requirement that the bclk needs to be locked at 100,0000MHz then it would be really great :P

Yep complety normal when you validated the report things possibly your CPU was at idle then and during load you get a vdroop which can be tweaked with LLC.

  10. #570
hmm i have never messed with my bclk. I cant even explain why its not locked at 100. i am very sure i never changed it, its just always been that way with this mobo and figured a little fluctuation was normal or caused by some intel/asrock magic i didnt understand lol

Fluctuation is normal and okay. If you want to make sure it is always at 100.00, in the BIOS BCLK settings, type in 100.00.

At least, that is what I do.

    Adding you now, Jiambi.

I did that at first, but it effectively uses more power since that is the same thing as disabling EIST.

Before I run prime for 8 hours I just wanted to ask if this screenshot would be considered valid (if I had run prime for 8 hrs). Going to push for 5.1 or 5.2 ghz probably, this is my 24/7 OC:

Added all three of you to kick off my birthday. :P

    It's 4AM here. >_>

Sorry for the delay, Faithh and Helieos!

Moved Intel Gulftown and the one CPU in its bracket to the bottom of the Intel section, and gave both AMD and Intel section headers, as well as adding an FX Piledriver section, finally!
