    HOLY kickass voltage batman!

Welcome Xim, to the top of the Devil's Canyon listing! :O

I also have updated the initial post to have a numbering system that makes more sense.

Instead of everyone at X GHz range being rank 1, and then the people coming up next being labeled as 2, 3, etc... It will now work as follows:

    X GHz rank 1
    X GHz rank 1
    X GHz rank 1
    Y GHz rank 4
    Y GHz rank 4
    Z GHz rank 6

That makes a little more sense, aye?

I had ~10 min. aida64 goin @ 4.9Ghz - 1.25V (Random voltage. I need to fine tune and run the 8hr+ test). Tried 5Ghz @ 1.3 but BSOD 5 min. into Aida. I'll mess it it later.

    Wonderful!

Glad to see someone really pushing again. This thread was LIVELY back when Sandy Bridge was the latest CPU technology, sadly it isn't what it once was.

I might try and tweak my CPU's 4.2GHz downwards, however I have fully given up trying for above 4.2 as it seems like I'd really have to mess around with other settings.

Currently going for 5Ghz @ 1.316. Wish me luck lol.

I'd be more comfortable if I was watercooled tbh.

You're using the NH-D15, so that's pretty damn swell.

Are you using the low-noise adapters or not?

What temperatures are you reaching? Your voltage matters more when it comes to temperatures than your frequencies, just remember that.

And even at 1.316v, you're still under what some others were at! And only one of them has a better cooler - that being the liquid cooling. Khuzdul is pushing through a whopping 1.357v with a D15, so I am sure you can too!

Max on the package has been 97C for a blip. Core 0-3 have been: 92, 96, 96 90 according to HWMonitor. Real temp has max @ 92 94 95 90. I should probably remove the hard drive cages just for this test to get better flow. No LNA used. Using the Phantex Enthoo Pro case.

Holy crap that's too hot for most! I'd be careful at that point, what kind of fan profile are you running?

And what case do you have?

bleh. crashed. gotta bump up voltage. I'll do it later this week when I remove the cages and hard drives in hopes of better temps. Might swap fans idk. Using Phantex fans in place of the Noctua fans that came with the NH-D15. I had the fans going full tilt for the 5Ghz runs. The 4.8 run was my silent profile.

Silent profile? Damn. Maxing around 80 Celsius for a silent profile is very very good!

Yeah I'd push my cpu up to 4.8 but sadly it's harder to do with a 6700k ran into a few problems last time I tried haven't touched it since. Would appreciate some tips tho.

Best advice I can give you is to just look up overclocking guides on the likes of overclockers.net or whatever the website is. Any of those big overclocking forums will be of more help than most of us here. Honestly, work on tweaking voltages, go from there.

What "few problems" did you run into, exactly?

Nicely done, friend! Added new position!

    - - - Updated - - -

I'm currently working on finding my bare minimum stable overclock voltage for 4.2GHz on my i7-5820k... it's somewhere in between 1.281v and 1.291v... Might just be 1.291v, we'll find out within the next few days!

Yeah... I have just bad luck overall. My i5-2500K was also not the best OCer out there... let's go look at page 1 for a moment...

Yeah... last place for 4.6GHz, last place for 4.5GHz, and 2nd place for 4.4GHz.

    Woohoo...

    Maybeeeee... I should get that Broadwell-E 10c/20th CPU that's coming out. 8)

Still, new architecture at 4GHz + 10c/20th = better than anything anyone has right now. 8)

Besides, an i7-6950X+GTX 1080 might just be quite a nice looking signature. hahaha

I've been running a DC i5 @ 4.8 for over a month now. Never has crashed once .. except under A64 stress testing Go figure, eh? 1.300v and it just sings along, no issues. 4.8@1.18v is a bit.. suspicious to me, as I have 3x i7 4790k's atm, none will even do 4.5 @ 1.18v. Dat 5.71Ghz in Task manager doe...

God chip. However look at the temperature. D:
He got the god binning that can go up that high without crashing, but that heat is still there and not good for it.
