    Rate my latest build!

When I built the last machine, it was purely to get back into PC gaming, my computer before it died. So, here is the previous build:

    Motherboard:

    CPU:
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=3740794

CPU Cooler, I went with stock for about a year, then I got into overclocking, so I needed more "oomph" with cooling:

    RAM:

    Vid card:
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=6075290

    System Hard drive:
Some 5400 RPM 80 GB HD I got from my college, we used to use them for labs, but they started handing out portable USB drives, so the hard drive was mine to use as I wanted.

    Power Supply:

    Case:

    Monitor:

Just within the past month, I built a whole new system, designed for the FX processor when they work out the lack of power issues and get the Bulldozer a little more on track with Intel's CPU's, and to check out the Scorpius platform when I do upgrade the CPU again:

    Motherboard:

    CPU:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103913

CPU Cooler (cheaper on Tiger Direct for some reason):

    RAM:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145313

    Vid Card:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125371

Main Storage Drive (which is what my OS is installed to, along with WoW, BF3, and Starcraft 2):

Same power supply, no need to replace that, same with monitor.

    Case:

    Notes:
Keyboard is the original Logitech G15, I have a G500 mouse for non-MMO games, and the Cataclysm edition WoW mouse for WoW & other MMO's. I also use the Belkin Nostromo n52te (before Razer took over) for all games except SC2.

I have a 1 TB HD for holding fraps footage, and a 500 GB drive for media and other stuff.

The main reason I upgraded was for streaming. Before, I could stream raids and pvp at 720p and it would be decently smooth, but it would be fuzzy due to my system's limitations. Now, with this build I am streaming raids and pvp at 1080p, and it's almost crystal clear. The only thing holding my stream back now is my internet.

Other games are much smoother as well, Battlefield 3 on a 64 person server is smooth as hell. I will be getting a second video card (same one) for Crossfire in January.

It's nice build, too bad you didn't go with i5-2500k (and Intel MB) since it's mainly for gaming but I'm sure it'll work out for you. You should supply some pictures now that you're showing off.

Yeah, I should. The only thing I don't like about this case is that there is only one red fan, but after my next check I am gonna buy a few red ones to replace the ones without LED's so it'll have a nice red glow. After that I'll borrow my room mates camera and take some pics

It just gives it a little more "umph" when you got something cool to look at and not just a long list of links look forward to it.

You wanted rating, so here goes. It's mostly all good, except...

PhenomII x6 1100T is not a good value gaming processor, as x4 965 gives the same performance in everything else except BF3 (whre you lose 0-5%) for $50 less. i5-2500K would have been better investment for any current gaming use.

Also I wouldn't have paid $40 for RAM decoration fins, as $50 8GB kit would've been just as good.

    edit:

9/10 for power, 8/10 value for money.

Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
    Trolling should be.

I see where you are getting at, but one thing I have noticed is that having the 2 extra cores when streaming is actually quite helpful. I use Xsplit to stream the games I play, and that program is very CPU intensive, especially since it is still in beta and they are working out the CPU usage bugs as they go...in the past 2 months CPU usage with Xsplit updates has gone down around 10-15% or so. Having the extra cores has been nice, as if I am playing something that stresses Xsplit, such as BF3, I can set affinitys and smoothness on both my end and the stream come in, instead of choppiness.

The RAM wasn't a buy for fins, it was the only 1600 mHz 2 x 4 set that I seen in the mobo's book that was in the QVL.

If I wasn't curious about Scorpius & Bulldozer, and an overall AMD fan, I would have went with a 2600, budget for the most part wasn't an issue. My previous build handled BF3 fine, I just needed more power for people to be able to watch me fail at gaming >.< .... and have it look smooth on their end. The only thing killing my streams now is my connection (20 down/3 up), which is changing to FIOs next week (25 down/25 up).

    Thanks for the rating tho!
