    Skyrim SSD Space?

I'm trying to decide on an SSD size. The only things I am looking to install on it are Win7, WoW, and Skyrim.
Do you think a Crucial M4 64g will do?

Wow takes up quite a bit of disk space, skyrim takes up around 6gb and windows 7 takes up idk. I would opt for slightly bigger size if you can afford it.
If you must insist on using a non-sanctioned sitting apparatus, please consider the tensile strength
of the materials present in the object in question in comparison to your own mass volumetric density.

In other words, stop breaking shit with your fat ass.

My WoW Folder is 25gig which is a pretty fresh install, Windows 7 is 15gb (not totally sure on this one..) and I don't own Skyrim. So do the math. Keep in mind the SSD won't be exactly 64gb either the firmware takes some up.

I'd recommend a 120g it's common market for that size now if your budget can afford it.

Like Azuri said, get the 128GB SSD if you get one. It's what I have, and I have a decent amount of games on it. If I threw WoW and W7 on a 64GB, there wouldn't be enough room. Once you've used an SSD, you will want all your games on it. The loading times are great. It is, however, slightly annoying that it loads so fast that I can't read loading messages in Skyrim. Being a complete noob to TES, I would like to read what they have to say.

As an owner of a 64gb ssd I can say this.

DO NOT GET A 64GB SSD. No serously, I am constantly trying to make room for it, so much so i'm upgrading no smaller than 120gb in a weeks time. Its just too much hassle.

I have my disk just for windows 7 and a few program files, no games / docs ect.

My Windows 7 + WoW (32 gig) + Starcraft 2 (10 gig) takes up around 80gb of memory on my 90gb SSD

What's been said. I have a 120gb and I'm left with 40 gb after installing WoW and some programs. Win 7 too.

    secondeding this.

On my ssd (should) only be w7, wow, sc2 and a couple small programs. Currently sitting at 40.2/111gbs free so pretty similar.
My wow folder is only 26gbs for reference

Why do you people put games on an ssd? Yey first on server! And now I have to wait for others...

    It's no use.

for online games? I don't always play online games in groups or online that for that matter (sc2 for example).
Skyrim is solely a single player game, why not put it on ssd.

Faster load times. It's that simple. Every second spent on a loading screen, is a second im not cracking skulls open.

Yes. got all that installed atm, still 13gb free.

However, you will need to move pagefile off ssd and disable hiberfil.sys, but that is a common SSD optimisation you should do on any size, not only 64gb.

I have a 2 year old SSD of 64 GB

I run win7 64bit + WoW and some random programs I use on that disk. I still have like 12-14 GB of free space to install those games I randomly play for a few weeks on.
I ofc have a 2TB normal HD to keep all my movies, porn and other backup stuff stored on.

But yes 64 GB is fine for Windows7, Skyrim and WoW

Just turn off all the the useless stuff in windows like System Restore, Hybernation, set your page file to like 2gb etc and you will have loads of free space.

    No use? hardly lol

People put their games on their SSD, why wouldn't they? That's the whole purpose of SSD, gaining speed. it helps loading, not just loading into game but everything actually is playable and shows up as soon as the you step in game, unlike with most HDDs. It helps reloading your UI faster, during raids etc. it just makes everything feel a lot smoother.

I wouldn't say you have loads of space and you need to know how to tweak it. I use a 64GB as well for Windows, WoW, Diablo and all my programs but I would still highly recommend a 128GB+ if you're buying now. Don't forget drives close to full looses performance.

120GB SSD if you can. 64GB will just run you into issues.

I have skyrim on a normal HDD because steam was there. There's barely any loading times to speak of. (there are loading screens, but they're faster than some of the games I have on my SSD)

well, the only problem i got with the SSD + skyrim is: the loading screens is too fast lol cant even read the text before you are on the road again lol

My Skyrim folder is 5,60 GB, so yeah, it should fit in there with WoW and W7
