Updating Computer and my progress so far.

Hello i am atm in a part by part upgrade progress and would like to share my current spec and my soon to get hardware (Payday soon) and perhaps get some debate regarding my choices.

Atm i have gotten (using newegg.com for example, i used cdon.se komplett.se myself)

    MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131701
    CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115070
    Mem http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233143
    GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121432

And now for the stuff i have yet bought!

Since i am a huge Corsair fan i usual buy thier stuff if it is reasonable,

Chassie http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811139006 (check movie review at that page) Notice top of the case nad the cooler in next link.

Cpu Cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835181017 (The H80 does the trick to, buy it is such a small price diffrence btw them so why not go for the big one when the case supports it)

    SSD Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233191

The PSU i have atm is a old Corsiar VX 650 that still runs fine after 5+ years but i think i buy a new one with modular system and more power, perhaps a AX 750 Gold+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139016

Think i go for these last updates like The Case and Cpu cooler this month and the SSD and perhaps a PSU next month.

    So what do you think?
    I'm a stranger, I'm a changer.
    And I'm danger... maybe...

Before we move forward.... any reason you got the i7-2600K? Do you actually know of its benefits (or lack thereof)? What do you plan to do, if anything, aside from gaming? Do you render, fold, any workstation tasks like that?

Your choice in RAM tells me you likely do use some tasking programs, but I'm just making sure, as the 2600K and 16GB of RAM are both overkill for pretty much all gaming, especially the RAM.

Well i am a multi task user, usual have Winamp, some movie running on my small monitor and firefox with 15 tabs aprox, while waiting for lfg etc to pop in wow on main tv screen.

I have gotten the Gpu 2 days ago and i would like to start frapsing / edit movies from wow and such, but i have not yet started doing that.

Just for a frame of reference, I also have 16GB of RAM, and I typically have ~40 tabs open in Google Chrome, I know it's crazy, sue me. :P But that typically takes only a few GB of RAM at the most, so the RAM might be a bit overkill but it should surely provide you breathing room when it comes time to film and render.

You say you play WoW on a tv screen? How many inches/what is the resolution?

In regards to the GPU, know that if you ever choose to SLI with another 570, you will have very little room to expand after that, as with the DCII 570s being triple-slotters, they take up a huge amount of PCI lanes. So just be warned in that regard.

Everything else looks fine, however if you care at all about sound, I suggest getting some aftermarket fans for your CPU heatsink's radiator as the ones that come with the H100 get very loud at higher speeds, from what I've heard.

Nice build otherwise! Looking forward to some pictures!

That doesn't really count as multitasking... none of those use any significant amount of system resources.
But since you already bought them no reason to discuss it further :P

Everything you're buying look fine... I'd keep your old psu until you really need to upgrade though, it'll be perfectly fine for your new system. And a 750w doesn't really do anything a 650w can't... if you want to sli 570's for example you'd really want to get an 850w to add more room for overclocking.
If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One... now I am become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds.

hehe, well the ram was not that expensive and i just went for it, (seen above 6gb ram used and thats without video editing / frapsing.

    The Tv i have is a http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/de...me=LE46C750R2K

As for the cooler, yeah i heard about that to, so think i go for some other fans.

EDIT i play at 1920 x 1080 on the tv.

Memory is great, i've got the exact same model and it's worth the price.
Got the same board too, although mine is the Sabretooth p67 model with the Thermal Plating.

Cooler is great, I've got the older H60 model and overclocking my i5 to 4.8 ghz no problem @ max load it's about 65 degrees so you'll have the same or better.

For your SSD you should get a OCZ Vertex 3, it's better than the Corsair GT and slightly cheaper.
    http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduc...odid=HD-071-OC

You should spend the extra money and get a gtx 580, or 2x560's in SLI, or 2x6950's in Crossfire (you can unlock them to 6970 very easily).

I would get an i5 over an i7, the performance increase for gaming is minimal. You'll only notice a difference if you're doing a lot of video recording, conversions and editing. So save the money here and spend it on your graphics.

    Edit: Forgot PSU!
Play it safe and get a 750-800W PSU. Corsair, OCZ or Thermaltake are great brands.

i Have already gotten the first 4 linked items^^ i went for the GTX 570 for the following reasons, i guessed the GTX 560ti DCU2 would do the trick but was not sure if i buy BF3, then i also think a GTX 580 is overkill and hence i settled in the middle. 560ti 2000sek and the 580 i looked at was 4300sek while the 570 went for aprox 2900sek.

Also i have looked around for a while and the MoBo can run tripple slot GPU cards in SLi but tbh, i do think the one i have is more than capable of doing the job, and i have yet OC'd it yet, i have forund that it shall run great with 939 mhz 1.1v oc.

Loving the case, PSU, cooler and SSD choices. I got the HAF 922 before the 650D came out, and the H100 is my most recent purchase. Corsair all the way

I would recommend a Seasonic X750 instead of the AX750 though. They're very similar, and that's because Corsair use Seasonic to make all of their power supplies. Seasonic are the OEM and not everyone knows that, but everyone does know Corsair do have that quality advantage - so the impression of them using Seasonic as their manufacturer just goes to show you there is someone even better in the PSU department. Scroll down below here if you want to check: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/power-...w-32187-5.html

This isn't a huge biggy ofc, but just saying. Other than that, the list looks great.

Did you read any of the thread?

First off, the OCZ Vertex 3s aren't very reliable, so we do not suggest them around here, and the Force GT that he picked is pretty much equal to the Vert3, most people would never notice the difference.

Spend the extra money for a 580? That's about a 15% increase in power for a 50% higher price. We also would suggest someone go for the stronger video card (570) and in the future he can SLI with that, it will dominate 560s (I hope you mean Ti's) in SLI, anyways.

He will make use of the i7, read the thread.

Thermaltake is not a very great brand for PSUs, Corsair is great, OCZ is okay, but Thermaltake does not make very reliable ones. The PSU he is looking at will be just fine.
