    Question Tips for GPU

Since I got my new build done, i have been playing Rift on Ultra! Now what I would like to know if there are some tips for preserving the GPU? I don't want to burn it out!

    Thanks a bunch!

Has it been overclocked? If not, then it shouldn't be dying anytime soon

Just keep an eye on the temperatures (I use a program called MSI Afterburner to also control the fan speeds). Also, make sure the airflow in your case is good and that everything is well ventilated, since heat components hate heat. Remember, GPUs are supposed to be able to endure temps of 105c-110c, at which they will automatically turn off if it comes near the mark, so they're much more durable than a CPU; the size of them already tells you they're tough.

Other than that, perhaps remember to minimize and tab out to windows when you're AFK or something, since Rift flashes the icon anyway if you get whispers or so This will downclock your GPU as part of the built-in power saving features.

Being another Rift player, I know that the tooltip tells you what things are most GPU intensive, most of those things are honestly pretty hard to notice at the higher settings, so you could turn those down. And idk if you have a GPU temp monitor, but try and keep the GPU under 70c and you'll be just fine.
