"Tonight hmm? Well if yer men ar rested and ready then I dunt see why not. In that case, meet meh back up here in three hours and we'll get this journey underway."

Thorlin then left the gunship and went back down to Aerie Peak. Once there, he marshaled his forces together and within three hours had all of the Thunderhammer forces ready and waiting inside the gunship.

Valine grabs her equipment. "You have to excuse me, I am going to the frostwolfs to call for their aid in the war against the alliance." While she walks outside the turns around for the last time.

"And also essemble a small group to go after vianne to rebuild stormgarde keep" With saying this she also leaved the town hall, grabbing her horse she mounts up and started to travel to the north to Alterec valley.

"The Alliance will expect us to be heavily fortified in Durnholde. While the keep itself offers great protection and oversight, the more logical answer will be to make it a grave for the advancing alliance scum, as they try to make their way further into the Hillsbrad. On brute strenght, the alliance currently outpower our forces stationed here by lenghts. I say we barricade the keep and make it seem heavily fortified. Then, we prepare a trap. Use mines, use blight, I don't care. Just make sure that whichever enemy forces enter the keep, remain in the keep, ready to be risen as Soldiers of the Forsaken!..."
Kelara smirked, letting her red eyes wander across the map of the battlefield. Not long ago she had been fighting on the alliance side. To her it came natural what they would think, how they would defend, and what they would expect.

"As for attacking the Thandol Span, the alliance would still be able to reinforce via airways. I question our air-dominance in this matter. It would be far easier to prepare an assault on Thoradin's wall, attempting to cut the alliance army into different sections. If we can claim even a fourth of their soldiers for the Forsaken, this war will immediately swing into our favour. I, Kelara Sorrowsong, would also be one to claim leadership over the Forsaken forces here. We do not need a petty-do-good elf to lead the warmachine!"

"Your plan in concept should work without fail, but who is to bait the pigs into the pen, ready for the slaughter?", cackled Arkrah, keeping her burning gaze upon Kelara. Slowly, she moved closer to the table, eyeing up the maps before her.

"What about the Hinterlands? The pass that leads directly north from Durnholde further leads on to where Aerie Peak is situated. The Wildhammer gryphon riders are unmatched, and could easily pull off some form of aerial bombardment. We need something to make the skies above Durnholde a no fly zone, so that they can move in with their ground forces.", she continued, pointing at a map.

"Obviously, we'll use fodder forces for Durnholde. The most expendable element in our army. I think the enemy would see through any sort of trickery regarding the subject. As for making the air a No-flight zone, I suggest we use barricades and hampering of the enemy progression to time their arrival at the keep to late evening. This should give us the night to sabotage their forces, or force them to assault the keep at dark. If they assault at night, our bats are far superior in the air to the gryphons, and we'll tear them from the skies! If not, hopefully we can sabotage them at Aerie peak with a fast moving light force, causing their air support to be vastly hindered. Also, during the night we shall prepare to cut off the forces from Thoradin's wall. We will only allow them to come from the north, where Durnholde makes an excellent trap. Once the Alliance takes Durnholde, we'll strike with the full might of the Forsaken!"
Kelara stretched herself from the table, eyeing everyone else around her with a grim look.

"My forces at ready to move out at my command. The Alliance shall be crushed beneath the true might of the Horde!", sneered the Orc, before sharply turning it into a grin.

"If Thandol Span is going to be a waste of time then allow me to offer my services somewhere else." Miltharion said looking at Kelara, "My care for the forsaken may not be as strong as yours but I hate the humans of the alliance as much as you, if not more for what they have done to my people, let me have a chance at showing you the might of a magi of the Sin'dori."

Approaching alterec vally with her horse valine looked around her. " The frostwolf camp with the entrance into the valley must be here somewhere" Going further into the mountains she spotted the camp. coming closer she dismounted and walked to a group of frostwolf orc.

"Hello there, I am Valine Dawnreaver, may i ask where i can find the one that is in charge here? she asked with a smile

(( I will be joining this thread with a Horde character since my Alliance one gets no love ))

Raegar couldn't believe his eyes: a lone blood elf approached their camp and -dared- to ask for a meeting with their leader.

" Slow down, fel-sucker. You clearly do not know us, Frostwolves. We are a -shamanic- tribe. For a.... being... such as you, to come here alone and ask for an appointment with our leader is... unconceivable.

Whate business have you with the mighty Drek'Thar ? "

((Pat you never introduced yourself to Aethar. You didn't send word to him that you would be joining through any channels. You didn't even request a meeting. How would Vadoor's character know you existed as he was leading thousands and thousands of men from Stromgarde. You even sat down and out of the way to pray. Remember that our characters only know what they know, not what we the writers do. If you want to join up you need to actually join up.))

"Oh well rested. We've had nothing to do but prepare and rest for the past few days waiting for all the men to assemble." Richard laughed and commented, "One of the main advantages to a smaller unit like ourselves." Richard and Ryan left down to the base of Aerie Peak where the rest of the Blitz waited. After a few short explanations and setting out duties the whole of the Blitz made their way into the gunship and settled in for the flight. Richard and Ryan went to the command tower to meet Thorlin. Upon entering Richard greeted Thorlin in his own tounge, <"A good day to fight! Let's be off!">

((By the way Vadoor you didn't say where Thorlin would be but I assumed the logical place would be the command tower. If not just let me know and I'll change it up.))

"Aye. Ive been ichin fer ah gud battle eversince we leveled Hammerfall. And taday I'm gunna get it!" Thorlin replied in his dwarven tongue. Thorlin then situated himself in the command chair in the rear of the room overlooking the floor of the command tower. "Full power, Ship Master Thermojet. Lets take her inta tha skies."

"Right away Commander," Thorlin's second in command replied. "All hands set gauges to full, take us up. Helmsmen, set a course for the ruins of Alterac.
"Yes Ship Master,"replied the gnome helmsmen controlling the steering wheel in the front of the room.

The engines of the ship roared, sending energy throughout the multiple pistons and mechanisms inside the gunship. The turbines outside began to spin to life, kicking up a small snow storm around the ship. The ship gave a great shudder, then slowly began to lift from the ground. The turbines went into overtime and the area around the gunship became one great snow cloud as ground beneath the turbines cleared until only bare stone remained. Visibility remained a white snow cloud for several moments, then the gunship rose out of the cloud like a great leviathan rising from the sea. "Take us tah war captain," Thorlin said, and the gunship began its journey over the mountains towards the ruins of Alterac.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

A few hours later the Army of the North passed into Hillsbrad territory. The entrance, which had once before simply been a whole blown through the rubble, was now fortified with Alliance and Arathor troops. A trench had been dug on the Hillsbrad side, and it was lined with spikes and the trench itself filled with oil in case the attackers decide to storm it. Any opposing force attacking the wall would be forced into a funnel that was the entrance between the trenches, which the Alliance had turned into a killing zone. After the entirety of the force passed through, they returned to ranks forming blocks of soldiers three thousand strong. Scouts went out ahead of the army to look for awaiting ambushes. Meanwhile Aethar met with Thorlin's third in the command line, Dagmar Felhide. The dwarf was easily discernible from others. His body sported nasty scars, many green, fel looking, but he still appeared the visage of a warrior despite his detriments. As Aethar met with the dwarf he noted that Dagmar always kept a strange elixir at his side. A look of pity shown on Aethar's face for a moment as he looked upon the blighted dwarf, but he willed it away noting the strength in the dwarves pose.

"Dagmar, while the rest of the Alliance moves towards Durnholme I need you and the Thunderhammers to destroy Eastpoint Tower. Its the Hordes only bastion of strength this side of the river. With the tower destroyed we can control the bridge and stifle the flow of Horde troops into this territory. I'm ordering 3000 soldiers to accompany your forces. Good luck, and may the Light grant you strength."

As Aethar left Dagmar a soured look came over the dwarves face. Ever since he acquired his scars the Light had shown him little empathy. Dagmar then returned to his own forces. Thorlin had left the majority of his army at Stromgarde to assist the Alliance in Hillsbrad. Dagmar now commanded 1300 veteran soldiers as well as scores of armored vehicles and artillery. Along with the 3000 additional Alliance soldiers Dagmar's force now numbered near 4800. As the dwarf gave out the orders to the Thunderhammer's, engineers began connecting artillery pieces to the backs of the tanks so that they could be set up and moved quickly if the situation called for it. Within half an our Dagmar's force began moving towards Eastpoint Tower.

Raegar frowned for a brief second. This was not how he would've wanted to greet someone.

" Pardon me, blood elf. I tend to.. get impulsive... and sometimes speak without thinking. I have to admit, I have many prejudices when it comes to your race..

But this is a War RP and a bit of it is going to be troop movements and general setting up. Gotta prepare for some less actiony moments.))

Authur Blicker walked regretfully up towards Aethar. He should of met with his commander two days ago, but as always he decided to put it off till the last minute. A reluctant Marshal of the Alliance. Several victories lead to his rapid and earlier promotion. The title and responsibility was thrust upon him several months ago. Lacking any of the normal demeanor of a normal officer, even a lower ranking one, unshaven and his uniform wrinkled heavily from lack of care and having been slept in quite often. He waited as the Field Marshal addressed a curious looking dwarf. He tapped the side of his sheathed dual-dao sword. It was about the only think about him that looked well kept. He preferred to be a swordsman, it had always been his true passion but such was life.

An eagle passed over head, Authur's gaze lingered on it as it soared over head.......He always did want to fly......

"We're beginning the reconstruction process of Durnholde Keep as we speak," Executor Landin reported crisply as Vianne stood vigil at the entrance to the keep. The recapture of Durnholde went about without a hitch. The bandits that sqatted there were no match for the Sin'dorei troops and the rogue elementals that the nearby garrison at Eastpoint Tower used for practice were quickly dispatched. The paladin turned on her mount, a hand reaching out wordless to her second-in-command, who promptly produced a spyglass from a pocket and placed it in her palm. "The engineers and artillery should be here momentarily," he added.

"Yes, I see them now," the paladin replied as she scanned the hills to the south and spotted the column of engineers, artillery crews, and abominations slowly snaking its way eastward on the main road through Hillsbrad just entering her field of view. Further south, Eastpoint Tower and its entrenched garrison of infantry and catapults stood several miles to the south west, but their position on top of a ridge looking down over the eastern woods and Dun Garok to the south was invaluable. "Have our people begin scouting the interior of the keep. I want a work schedule in place by the time the reinforcements arrive."

    "Understood."

"In the meantime, I'm going to Eastpoint and reviewing the garrison. We will have to work in concert if we are to hold this position and I want to make sure they're ready. Set the Forsaken to work the moment they arrive."

    "Understood. We'll hold the fort,"
    Landin replies with a salute.

Vianne responds in kind, then quickly summons a guard of knights and a few magisters before marching south to Eastpoint Tower. Captain Jekyll, the commander of the outpost is there to meet her.

"We received word that you were coming. Nice work clearing out Durnholde."

The paladin nods in acknowledgment, "How is your situation here, Captain?" She looks around, noting the array of counter-siege weapons deployed behind layers of spiked barricades. Soldiers patrol the perimeter with grim resolution, and there were even a handful of orcs and trolls milling about, ready to come to the outpost's defense. She nodded again, pleased with what she saw. The grounds were orderly and well entrenched against attack, but there is an oppressive pall in the air. Every soldier there knew that the Alliance were coming, and they would be one of the first places hit. But they were veteran soldiers of the Hillsbrad campaign and were no strangers to the rigors and horrors of war. The tower itself is in a state of disrepair however, a problem she will want to rectify if time permits.

"Well as can be expected," Jekyll answered carefully, "We are well prepared for an attack, though we lack the numbers to hold off a large persistent force if push comes to shove. Your retaking of Durnholde Keep should take some of the pressure off us though."

"Yes. Our artillery will have overlaying fields of fire so with luck, the Alliance will think twice before committing their forces to assault either position," Vianne said with a nod. "My magisters will set up a Windspeaker crystal here so we can coordinate our defense. Good work, captain. I will be replying on you and your men in the coming battle."

After Aethar had issued his command to Dagmar he turned and looked upon Authur. The man looked dirty, and unkempt , a strange look for one so highly ranked. Being understanding though, Aethar looked past his appearance.
"And who might you be?" Aethar said extending a welcoming hand to Authur.

Authur's gaze slowly shifted from the eagle passing above to the tall Field Marshal in front of him and then to his hand. He grasped it loosely, shook it once and then released. "Name's Authur. Marshal Authur Blicker. I was told to report to you for this campaign." He looked quickly away and around, eager to get back to the comfort of his own group of men. He was painfully aware that Aethar had been sent a report indicating his arrival was supposed to be much earlier.

"Your late Marshal, two days late. I hope you have a good reason for this. This war effort is very important and punctuality, when it comes to at least showing up on time is important." Aethar then gave a sigh. "Nevermind, you are here now and that's what matters. Authur, I need you to be my second, to help me lead this army. Will you help me with this task?"

Authur rolled his eyes. Ever since he got this promotion those above had been striving to make him act the part, but that wasn't why they promoted. "Right sir. A second I can be." He always felt more confidant when he had a superior to report too. He felt like this burden would send him to an early grave. He needed a fight.....He always did feel better after a fight....

"Idle banter here will not give us victories. I shall take a small group of my units, say... twenty. We will scout your Forsaken settlements and keep an eye upon Alliance encroachment. I do hope that your fight master does have access to the bats I require.", she grunted, before striding out of the room. Departing Tarren Mill, she approached the grey and crimson tents that were erected upon the town's outskirts. Finding the Orc that she was looking for, she hastily darted towards him. As he spotted her, he bowed, before standing up with his chest puffed outwards. Speaking lowly, she nodded at him.

"Gather twenty men and women. Equal amounts of engineers and elementalists. It is time that we scatter the Horde's forces.", she grinned. Darting off, the same male returned moments later, followed in tow by an assortment of Goblins, Orcs and Trolls. Bowing once more, he replied, "They have been informed, mistress. They follow your lead with utter devotion.".

She smiled with glee. Motioning with her hand, the 'Horde' spell casters and elementalists followed her back into the Forsaken town. Approaching the flight master, the woman briefly departed Arkrah's presence, before returning in tow with numerous bats. Behind her, more handlers arrived with the flying beasts. Briefly smiling once more, she left upon her armoured mount, as her and her followers darted into the sky.

As they swerved across the sky, it was minutes before they had arrived above the Forsaken gate. Southpoint Gate, to be exact. They would not expect an assault from their own forces. Arcing around in the sky, the twenty-one bats dropped lower in altitude, until they were at the perfect height. Cackling wildly and holding onto the bat’s reins with her left hand, Arkrah’s right palm began to glow brightly as flames gathered within her grasp. Behind her, the other elementalists followed her actions, and the engineers lifted crudely crafted bombs. Within seconds, the orbs of flame and the explosives rained down on the unsuspecting Forsaken post. Boom. Boom. Boom.

Momentarily later, the remnants of the outpost burned, wafting smoke into the foggy sky. Still laughing madly, the bats slowed, as they dropped and hovered mere inches above the ground. Arkrah lept off and quickly surveyed the gate. No survivors. They didn’t even have any time to retaliate. Excellent. Reaching into the pouch that rested at her waist, she pulled out a pristine blue banner, that had seemingly been bound tightly. Breaking the cord that held it, she shook the bundle, as it fully displayed what was upon the blue material. A golden lion. They symbol of the Alliance. Tying the banner to the least burnt section of the wall, Arkrah revelled in her achievement. Darting back to her bat, the beasts lifted off the ground once more, heading back towards Tarren Mill.

Soon later, they had arrived back. Forming an expression of worry upon her face, the false-Orc lept off her mount and made for the Town Hall. Panting heavily, she struggled to gasp for air. She then composed herself once more.

"The Alliance. We saw them, at Southpoint Gate. Their Wildhammer gryphon riders bombed and torched the outpost, before laying claim with one of their bastard banners. They seek to spread us... to weaken our defense. We will show them that we are not weak and complacent. We must crush their aerial forces. We march for Aerie Peak, within the next hour. My forces will go, but it is your decision if you seek to accompany us.", she roared at those that were present before her.

"They obviously promoted him because he is good at what he does. Ill just have to look past his over relaxed appearance." "Excellent Authur. I hope I can come to count on you, I'll need a person with a sharp wit at my side through this war. Would you like to accompany me to Durnholme?" Aethar said as he mounted his mighty war steed.
