The Blood Solo Thread.

Hey Guys, I’ve decided to take it upon myself to turn this into a rough compendium on soloable bosses. This is just a laundry list of soloable content, which I hope other newbies such as myself can use as a checklist to explore old content.

If possible, I’d like to know any possible talent specs (if not the usual lichborne one) we need for soloing (or that is best for soloing purposes).

Also, any racials that might help soloing. Though based on responses, it doesn’t seem like it does.

Fights are rated on a 1-5 scale, 5 being hardest. I used Mionelol’s guide for this, so all credit is hers. I only singled out particularly difficult bosses that might need special consideration due to mechanics and such. The rest should be tank n’ spank.

Gear levels should be JP level gear or higher (>359ish) With 4.3, This shouldn’t be an issue at all.

1. Pre-BC raids:
• Everything except Razorgore/Vaelstraz in BWL, twin emperors in AQ40. Should be trivial.
2. BC raids:
• Kara (all trivial)
• Magtheridon
• Doom Lord Kazzak / Doomwalker
• Gruul's lair (All)
- High King Maulgar 2.5/5
• Serpentshrine Cavern (All)
- Lady Vashj 4/5 difficulty
• Tempest Keep – The Eye (all)
- Kael’thas 3.4/5
• Black Temple
- Supremus, Shade of Akama, Teron Gorefiend, Mother Shahraz trivial
- Najentus can be done by a night elf using shadowmeld, otherwise impossible
- Gurtogg Bloodboil doable but with special strat
- Illidari Council – 2/5
- Illidan 3/5 needs knowledge of strat, but with current gear can be easily downed before his Shadow Demon phase.
• ZA (all)
• Sunwell plateau:
- Felmyst, Eredar twins, M’uru and Kiljaeden should be doable with ^359 gear
- Brutallus and Kalecgos not soloable so far
- Eredar twins might need some practice
• Mount Hyjal (all)

3. Wotlk raids (10-man):
• Vault of Archavon
• Naxx: All but Gluth (impossible)/Thaddius (Razuvious and 4H only done on beta, Raz probably not doable on live atm) Edit: all doable!
• Sarth no drakes (Tenebron not soloable due to fight mechanics)
• All of Ulduar but Thorim (impossible due to mechanics) and Hodir (enrage currently issue)Edit: Thorim & Hodir doable Freya HM
• New Onyxia
• ICC: Marrowgar, deathwhisper (some russian DK did it), Blood Princes, Valthira Dreamwalker (only doable by Draenei with bugged racial), Rotface, Professor Putricide (very buggy), Sindragosa HM, Lich King
• The Nexus: The Eye of Eternity (Malygos)

4. Stuff not done yet that is probably doable at some point this expansion:
- Festergut
- Assorted 25-man versions of some bosses where enrage is not an issue
- 10-man Omnotron, Halfus Wyrmbreaker (only with certain drakes), Valiona and Theralion, Ascendant Council may be doable at the very end of the expansion in the absolute top end of gear, since there's no fight mechanics that make them technically impossible

Impossible for a DK to ever solo due to mechanics / whatever
- Razorgore
- Kalecgos
- Tenebron (thus Sarth + 3) Edit: Possibly a DPS race
- Gluth Edit: Possibly a DPS race
- Algalon the Observer (will cast 700K damage aoe when you reach 4 stack phase punch and noone is in combat with him)
- Valthira Dreamwalker w/o Draenei racial
- Halion
- Magmaw, Chimaeron, Conclave of Wind

Looking forward to anyone who can add and/or edit the list, especially with regards to bolded part (especially with new gear now).

you better come back asap since 4.3 is may be your last chance to solo most stuff before squash hits in MoP. And gearing up straight to t13 requires no effort atm.

I agree with you and that's why I want to to experience the content before the item squish! If you're right, this could be the last patch we can do this, and I'm sure many of you guys out there want to experience old content for the first time (or for nostalgia's sake!).

While we don't have ANY numbers on this yet (hell, we don't even know if the item squish is going to be the answer in the first place) it's safe to say they will adjust health and damage numbers accordingly. There's a decent chance that you might require more than 1 person to clear all the old content, come MoP. But let's be honest, you are playing a MMORPG, what's so bad about doing something with other people in the first place?

Then again, I've never gotten the obsession about people and their soloing.

Also Blizz is saying the squish wont effect solo ability really but who knows

Check out Raegwyn or Mionelol, they are the most well known Death Knight soloers.
Their Youtube channels should give you a reasonable idea of what you can and cannot solo.

if they compress them all so it scales 1-85 the way it does 1-60, soloing raid bosses will be gone
if they decide to spend extra time making raid bosses as powerful as 5man bosses for the sole reason of soloing, then i'd wonder if they are worse out of touch than originally thought

Fixes:

Undoable due to mechanics:
C'thun, Vashj (she received a nerf since 4.0), Thorim have been done. Gluth, Sarth 3D, and Algalon should all be simple dps races, albeit significant ones, and most should be impossible this expansion (gluth might be doable).
Not yet done:
Thaddius, Freya HM, Hodir, Lich King, Sindragosa (HM, even), Bloodboil, Shahraz, Malygos, everything else in VoA, all been done.

my dk (that i've slacked on and well have neglected for a bit) is a goblin dk (haste buff racial) and is currently a 362 ilvl gear blood and i'm able to solo alot of stuff.
I can solo alot of the trash in icc 10, i dual box with my 2nd account so i can convert to raid and 2nd toon is afk in org any wrath 5man i can solo on heroic but toc5man is kinda a pain cause i think i'm not used to solo'n that place yet.. I'm mostly 359 gear with some 365 and valor bracers.. so really easy gear to get and i'm able to have alot of fun.
If your gonna play ally side then drenie might be better for solo'n cause of the self heals and nightelf with higher parry may affect your vengence stacking i'm thinking is the reason the 2 famous dk guys use that race?? well good luck and have fun solo'n..I know i do

On topic, Felmyst, Eredar twins, M'uru and Kil'jaeden should be possible with anything north of 359 gear without too much issue (Eredar twins are a bit of a pain, but you just chain CDs til you kill the shadow one, then it's easy street. I taught a friend to solo them.

Any comments on which racial abilities lend themselves best to soloing?

I'm torn between Nelf or Draenei (2% CTC vs 20% hp heals).
