He had the guy wide open but opted to throw a loft pass when he could have just thrown a line drive.

I don't think so. I think they made a great explanation of the rule in the Nebraska game earlier. By the letter of the new rule that is a foul. But 99% of America would disagree with it. The rule sucks but it is a valid flag.

I meant on the ejection part which got overruled. Was just a knee-jerk reaction by the refs.

If the penalty is called as they called it, the ejection is AUTOMATIC. If they want to call Targeting, they have to eject and allow the booth to review.

Well the penalty portion of it isn't for targeting. The ejection is. And clearly he was making a play on the ball and not targeting him. But any contact like that against a receiver is gonna draw the flag. In the rule it states "If in doubt it is a penalty". I think the application of the rule was good. But the ejection was some chickenshit knee-jerk reaction to an attempt at a good football play.

That is not a foul. Head was up. That is not targeting. Review should overturn the ejection but the foul will stay. It is not a foul.

Considering how they have stacked up recently to top tier SEC teams they may wanna ease up on the throttle a bit.

No way. If Alabama drops this game I still bet they are in the title game. If OSU, Oregon, and Clemson all end up undefeated Alabama would still jump to #2 after the SEC title game.

I was looking at the USC picture trying to figure out if that was an outline of the USA. Never noticed the stands till like 10mins later looking at this thread.
