So I did that lil trick and the ID for the older one showed up... And the one in my log isn't shareable... Does that mean what I think it means!?

It means you should finish the Quest and report back =)

Both Champion of the Naaru and Hand of A'dal are still obtainable with the old quest IDs.

Back in the days I forgot to finish the chain to enter Black Temple and when I logged in few days after the patch, I thought Hand of A'dal wasn't obtainable anymore so I didn't bother completing it. This is because I wasn't actually on the escort quest itself yet. I had a quest from before and needed to do some talking and it would lead up to the finale with another quest or two inbetween. I was under the impression that you needed the very last step(s) in your log for the post-3.0.2 titles so I abandoned the quest due to being able to get it back anytime.

Few years passed me by until I figured, "Why not?"
I went back and picked up the quest. After finishing the remaining few parts in few minutes and handing the last one in, I received my title. I was honestly surprised since I had gone through multiple quests, but apparently with some quests you are still given quests with old IDs upon finishing the previous ones with old IDs.

I had done Vials back in TBC.

I had completed half this quest way back when TBC started and was on the part where you rescue the guy in SSC. I had no logged quest for like 2 years and i got my title like a month ago.

did they say if you level cap yourself at 70 you can still get it or was that something else?

Just do
/dump "quest link from your log here"
and you see "quest:#" where # = the questID of your quest

Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): No longer attainable.
Patch 2.4.0 (2008-03-25): Players who have completed the attunement quests for Black Temple and Hyjal will be granted the title of "Hand of A'dal".

Unless you have the original quest then (apparently) you can still get the title.

I had the old vials of eternity in my log (ID: 10445). I completed the vials quest the day I killed Vashj for the 1st time. (05/10/2009).

Only 2 years later I decided to go for my blessed medallion of Karabor (I been stuck in the SSC part of the chain for over 2 years - Seer Olum)

There's also 2 versions of "A distraction for Akama"

Seeing as I completed some of the key quests before 3.0 (NOT 2.4 as someone mentioned above) when I got to the part of "A distraction for Akama" I automatically got the OLD quest.

In order to get the title you need BOTH "A distraction for Akama" (ID 10985) AND "The Vials of Eternity" (ID 10445), as it's shown in the criteria here: http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=431

That was for "Champion of the Naaru" (TK atunement)
