    Morchok Strategy, Loot, Discussions

    Morchok

The most powerful elemental still under Deathwing's sway, Morchok-once a passive guardian-is now convinced that his only respite will come with Azeroth's demise. Morchok rages against the foundation of Wyrmrest Temple, Azeroth's last beacon of hope in the Hour of Twilight.

Morchok performs a massive stomp, splitting 2000000 damage between all players within 25 yards. The two closest targets take a double share of the damage. In Heroic Difficulty Stomp also increases the Physical damage taken by affected players by 100% for 10 sec.

    Resonating Crystal
Morchok conjures an explosive crystal onto the battlefield that explodes after 12 sec. for massive Shadow damage. The explosion splits the damage between the three closest enemies, and the total damage inflicted increases depending on the distance of each player from the crystal. In 25 Player raids, the damage splits between seven random enemies.

    Furious
At 20% remaining health, Morchok becomes furious and increases his attack speed by 30% and his damage inflicted by 20%.

    The Earth Consumes You!
Morchok uses the power of the earth to draw all players to him, inflicting 5% of their total health as Physical damage every sec for 5 sec. While the power of the earth draws the players to him, Morchok also summons Earth's Vengeance.

    • Earth's Vengeance - Shards of Earth's Vengeance erupt from the ground, inflicting 15000 Physical damage to nearby players within 2 yards and leaving behind obstacles.
    • Black Blood of the Earth - Morchok causes the Black Blood the Earth to erupt outwards from him, inflicting 5000 Nature damage and increasing Nature damage taken by 100% every sec. while a player stands within the blood. This effect stacks up to 20 times.
    Even Morchok
Upon reaching 90% health, Morchok tears himself in half, creating his twin, Kohcrom. He casts the same spells as Morchok, but a few seconds later.

Anyone else think the loot is kinda weird? I mean for 10mans, having the random trink/ring drop would be kinda annoying after a while seeing it replace a normally elegible item since 10mans only have 2 drops, unless they're upping it lol.

if you look there is a skull before the "Even Morchok" which means its hc only and ofc the video was normal

It's the Heroic version of the fight- I'm guessing the skull icon that would show up on it in the in-game encounter journal doesn't show up here (at least I don't see it?).

As you copied the 25 man heroic abilities, you forgot that the normal mode do still have the sunder armor mechanic since its gone on Heroic for various reasons, just wanted you to get a heads up with it.

you can see a good vidoe, no guide of him in heroic here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfKwY6VyYsA

the sunderarmor is gone as you would need 4 tanks on heroic otherwise and thats abit harsh on a 10man team

Hand of Morchok is the only weapon better than Mandibles of Beth'tilac for 4.3 for DW Blood DKs, so you may get better mileage from Firelands.

DW tanking. There are so many things wrong with those 2 simple words.

That's what I was thinking... About you..

It's not impossible. But it's not really reasonable either.

Shattarath is kinda pretty but outside is a technicolor nightmare that looks like someone tied horses to the contrast slider and fired a rifle

Like u should be able to see, there is a huge lot of dodge to gain at DW tanking. You lose some stamina and mastery, lots of threat (which is a non-issue in todays tanking model).
    DW Tanking is completely viable.
