CombustionHelper 2.8 : Fire is back in business.

Hello all, the new version of CombustionHelper is out. As many of you will respec fire very soon, i thought it might be agood idea to make that thread so you can post bugs, requests and stuff.

For the people who don't already know it, here is some infos.

The goal of this addon is to allow easy optimizing of the new version of the mage talent Combustion in Cataclysm. It tracks all relevant Dots on your target, your cooldown of Combustion and the range so you'll be able to use the talent with maximum effectiveness.

To summarize the new talent : it will add a new Dot on effect on your target which will be equal to the sum of all existing fire Dots.

With this addon, you'll know if one of your Dot is missing.

Use Interface Panel -> Addons for full config or /combustionhelper for bringing up directly the option panel. You can enable Bar timers and set color and width, you can now also adjust value for red zone timers

    Featuring :
    • Automatic switch depending if combustion is in your spellbook or not and if frostfire glyph is present or not.
    • Impact mode. When combustion is on cd, it will check for dots on target and color the background and border in yellow to show when impact is up along with impact timer.
    • Autohide out of combat is off by default, use config panel to configure it. You can choose between no autohide, autohide out of combat or autohide when combustion is on cd.
    • Critical Mass/Shadow mastery tracker, it's on by default and you can disable/enable again with config panel.
    • Reset variables option because i know some of you like to bug the thing by switching options while in combat/autohide is running and stuff. If you bug it, just reset and log off so you start with a clean state.
    • Option to hide all config messages in chat.
    • Warning mode for early Living bomb refresh and missed LB.
    • Dot tick damage report mode. This is not the expected combustion damage report because of the complexity of ignite, rather an information about how much damage the last tick did so you know if it's powerful enough. The dot damage report total dot damage with a threshold you can set manually in the option panel to have the total damage line switch colors when crossing the specified limit. Threshold dot value now affect background color changes if enabled.
    • Pyroblast/Hot Streak report mode which will warn you when wasted an Hot Streak proc will letting it be refreshed before getting used and at end of combat will report with number of Pyro casted with number and percentage and Hot Streak gained.
    • Timer for Combustion Dot on target.
    • Multiple Living bomb tracking with impact support. You may observe a small difference between timer and real duration, it happen when the addon can't retrieve the correct info from your target, mouseover, focus or group/raid member's target. In this case it'll use predetermined timing but will still remove timer upon explosion. Support raid marker and current target symbol to multiple LB tracker (raid markers aren't supported yet when using impact).
    • Flamestrike tracker supporting regular flamestrike and blastwave Flamestrike.
    • Tooltips for option panel settings, no more obscure settings.
    • Ignite munching report, so you know how much damage you lost because of buggy mechanics.
    • Ignite damage predicter (BETA), instant info of you upcoming ignite damage (check option panel for info)

NEW : Graphical options so you can make it the way you want
NEW : Localisation in english, deutsch and French (feel free to report typos...)

Curse Updater has yet to see the new build. It will probably kick in in about an hours time.

Anyone else having a problem with the UI on the new version? I get no background anymore (and no consequently no green easy-to-see square). It's just floating text instead.

Open your addon menu - choose Combustionhelper - click the "+" to get to "graphical options" and change the background/border

can you customize the size of it? because i used to have it before, but then i never really paid attention to it, it was just kinda to small, not like your magemanabar which i could change the size of

just to confirm how combustion actually works. You said it was the sum of all existing DoTs? By that do you mean sum of what is remaining, or the sum of the DPS of current DoTs? I thought it was the latter. TY

p.s Love the addon, been using it whenever I could in Cata

you can change the overall size of it and the width if you enable the timer bars, not the height though since the height of each info is fixed. However, you can change color, font, background and border now.

Well it doesn't add the sum, that's why threshold in CombustionHelper is only checked for Ignite value now. It check the presence of the LB, pyro and FFB dot, add some mystery value for each (we couldn't get the formula right so far) and add the value of your ignite (this one goes through another formula we don't know either), multiply with your spellpower (i don't the coefficient) and then apply a number of dots determined by your haste.

Is combustionhelper created for new fire mages who have yet to understand when to use combustion or does it offer anything for mages that have been playing fire for X amount of years already?

It should be a must for all fire mages regardless of how long youve been playing.

Also I wanted to post that it was pretty buggy on the last deathwing encounter. While switching from the claw to the tentacle on the back of the platform it took around 10 seconds to start adding my dots up again (while targeting the tentacle). Not sure if anyone else had this problem but it was pretty annoying because I was using combustion on the tentacle.

It shouldn't take more than 2 secs to update the dots present on your new target unless there is another mechanic i'm not aware of. Can you try to reproduce this on a dummy, like putting dots switching to another, combustion and stuff ?

There is some unique features in it, like the Flamestrike tracker, Hot streak overwrite report and many not unique feature which are very useful like multi living bomb monitor, alerts for living bomb missed and overwrite and so on.

I can try but I didn't have a problem on any other fight except deathwing.

I got the no background thing fixed by just resetting saved variables to default. Now it all works again, but the "green" is really pale and hard to see. I don't see any graphics options for this. The ones referred to up thread do not exist in the options for the addon.

You have to click on the little "plus" icon in the addons list panel of the interface panel, there is a subsection.

For me personally it is buggy overall, most of the time the add-on will result into 0 if there is one of the 3 DoTs not on the target. I recieved several LUA -errors aswell, which I'll happily post to you when I get home today. The background and border are changeable in the options and Graphical options. that was no problem for me, personally.
