Anyone else foresee them nerfing Force Charge in Huttball?

I had no clue Force Charge was so retardedly good before I watched this video: http://www.twitch.tv/monkeygenius/b/301230931

    It starts like halfway through.

Being able to Force Charge and Intercede (which is SWTOR's version of the WoW Warrior's Intercept ability) up ledges looks to be too overpowered. This guy single handedly scores 4 or 6 touchdowns because he can Force Charge and Intercede up ledges and catwalks.

Anyone else foresee a nerf where they make charge unable to work up ledges/catwalks? Or do you think that people will find a counter to this?

Edit: went back to check when the Huttball PvP starts.

    First one starts at: 1:07
Second one (where he literally scores all 6 touch downs within like 2-3 minutes) starts at: 1:43

Knockbacks = lolforcecharge/intercede make good use of them. and they would have nerfed it by now so that means they wont people have been force charging since F&F beta

I think it's a good tactic, and it worked that well because they were always doing the same mistakes. Good tactics must be encouraged.

Better than a nerf, there should be a way to counter it.

Anyways, sooner or later, when people get used to it, it won't be that effective. So, no, I don't think a nerf is needed, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

They will probaly make it so you cant use it whenn holding the ball. I did the same in last beta whenn an enemy respawns he jumps down on the score line you can forge charge him thenn from either the the high road or if he is closer to the edge even whenn you have been trown down making scoring incredibly easy.

It wouldnt make sense to nerf as you are jumping. You should be able to jump up catwalks/ledges with a force-augmented jump.

From a balance standpoint, I dont see it getting nerfed before knockbacks.

I just really really hope they don't go the way of Blizzard and nerf/remove awesome PVE/flavor abilities to fit some PVP mold/balance issue. Provide counters instead of ruining fun abilities.

This seems the most logical fix. Unable to charge up ledges/catwalks when you have the ball.

Or just, you know, trying not to be in base pew pewing away while being targeted by a Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior.
That seems to work too...but apparently it's too hard, so...nerf away!

Everyone is capable of making huge gains without putting yourself in harms way, via the pass.

There is no need to change anything, you just need to be away of when a leaper has the ball and not provide them with the opportunity to make a huge gain.

Why nerf it? There are plenty of classes that can knock back or pull players back as there is those that can charge. People should learn to play the game first before they start asking or suggesting nerfs.

Quite the WoW mentality. "This tactic they use is effective, and the other team sucks at even remotely trying to counter it. Therefor it must be nerfed to protect the idiots"
I hope to god SWTOR doesnt follow the same road as WoW, where they pretty much take any idiot by the hand and carry him to "succes". Making the whole point of succeeding, tasteless.

If they nerfed charge, or made it so the ball carrier couldn't use it, I'd be super pissed off.

There are counters to it. Use them.

    Grapple them back to you.
    Knock them back.
Don't run at a tank with the ball if you are respawning.
Stand on the very edge of a ledge so he can't get to your position, he'll instead fall all the way down.
    And more.

I watched the video. That had little to do with being able to leap. That guy was unmolested and it was clearly a well coordinated group versus chickens with their heads cut off.

Nerfing Force jumping would be just plain stupid when you have knockbacks, try think of ways to counter them jumping on you instead of screaming for nerfs!

It's only about as overpowered as passing the ball is.

If it becomes FOTM they will need to step in, but I could see some form of movement limitation when your ball carrier. Being ball carrier should be about having your teammates work as a team, not just handing the ball to the one class who has a special move that isn't simple to counter. And its not simple to counter having used it myself.

All of this creates a much more interesting game and a pretty good way to make use of the Z-axis too. I'm guessing the OP doesn't understand passing the ball, since that allows every team, regardless of composition and enemy placement, to move the ball quickly around the map in every dimension.

    ding ding ding

Except 90% of the games I played in, no one passed the ball. Which made me sad.

considering other classes have knockbacks and ranged dps, I didnt see it as being OP. It was however, very fun
