Because my old headset broke I had to buy a new one - I've allways used headsets with Analog connectors, But this time I decided to go for the Razer Megalodon, A USB headset.
Now i have a problem with the sound quality not even comming close to my old headset - When i check my sound options the sound quality of my Megalodon device is grayed out at 48k/16 bit - dvd quality. While my old headset was capable of way higher sound quality 96k/24 Bit i belive.
I'm not very good with computers, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what could be wrong here.
I have tried used the Megalodon FirmWare Updated from the website, but there seems to be no change at all.
When I decided to check out what kind of soundcard I have I got this

As I said I'm not very good with computers, So I dont really get any of this :P
I'll try to supply more information if needed, But I have no idea where to look for more :P
1) What was your old headset?
2) What is your motherboard brand/model? This will help us find out exactly which Realtek revision you're running on.
3) The highest-quality songs are recorded at 44.1k so going any higher is not really warranted, you would need an extremely high-end soundcard + phones to even start noticing the vaguest differences between 48k and 96k. Even then it would be nearly impossible.
If you're getting degraded sound quality it's more to do with your new headphones being inferior sound-wise to your older ones, or you haven't fine-tuned the equalizer settings to suit the new ones, or you got a defective pair.
