It means people are inherently driven by self interest and as a whole either fail to see the big picture or don't care if it doesn't suit their desires. They want what they want as soon as they want it regardless of obstacles or consequences. As a result, if you don't get what you want the only logical answer is because they liked the opposing side more and you were discriminated against. You should now loathe and judge the governing bodies and raise your fist menacingly at your new opponents and demand satisfaction. After all, you are the consumer and you are the only one that matters.
