Gah. I really haven't been looking at my paperdoll for the last year, it seems. Thanks for the heads up, Aica

Merry Christmas, MMO-Priest Forums! Word on the street is that there was a big, high fancy to-do about stats and what not.

Are we really still having this discussion?

Haste: Squeeze more casts in shorter time. Good for when poo hits the fan. OK for when poo is still in the bucket.

Mastery: Makes heals bigger, but tends to only perform well in specific situations. Good when poo is still in the bucket. Usually just "OK" when poo hits the fan.

Critical: Sometimes heals go SKADOOSH. Great when it (a) happens and (b) happens at a meaningful time. Good for when poo hits the fan, your raid needs a Christmas Day Miracle™ and Santa brought you a new set of microwaved dice. "OK" for when poo is in the bucket.

Moral of the story is: Christmas is a time of giving. Don't give your guildies the gift of fan-flung poo. Know how stats affect your performance and make the big boy decisions on what stat weight is best for the most difficult part of a fight and gear accordingly. Sometimes it's mastery. On rare occasions it's crit. However, for most "difficult" styles of damage patterns, haste is the preferred stat for the experienced because of it's versatility.
