    Mouse Mat and Keyboard

    Hey guys,

So I've got some budget left for my christmas presents (£45-ish)

    Do you think

My desk is peeling away, and this will be my first ever mouse mat, so don't really know what to expect.

I've just got a crappy standard one I got with my computer ages ago, I particularly like the backlight/media button features.

Would these be a good investment?

    Thanks for the input

Keyboard is good bang for the buck, mousepad has a sticky bottom surface, I generally like textured rubber rather than sticking something to the desk.

I'd recommend either of the SteelSeries QcK models. I have one (the ordinary one) and I personally think it's fantastic. It's a bit hard to clean, but it's washable, so it shouldn't be too much of a worry.
I'd likely go for the thicker one if I had to do it over. Not that the QcK is uncomfortable - it isn't - but it's not really super-comfortable either.

Mousepads have no special "Technology" behind them, it's just a piece of fabrick stuck to a piece of rubber most of the time. Other times it's a piece of sandblasted aluminum, anyways i'd reccomend going to your local electronics store and getting cheap nobrand pads, because there really isnt a difference in what you get, except form factor and wether it's a hard or soft surface (If you do decide to go cheap , I'd suggest going for soft surfaces, since hard ones can have design flaws)
