All SWTOR Site Guild Support Gone by 1.03.12

When I attempt to navigate to the guild section of the site(http://www.swtor.com/guilds), I get the message that

Guild Headquarters
The Pre-Launch Guild Program has Ended
Thank you for your participation in the Pre-Launch Guild Program. At this time, guilds can no longer be created or modified on the website.

If your guild qualified for deployment, it has already been imported into the game. Server assignments can be found by visiting your guild's homepage. If your guild did not meet the deployment requirements, your guild was not imported into the game. Guilds can be created in-game at the Imperial and Republic fleets.

All web support for guilds will be removed by 01.03.12, and we encourage you to save any important data you wish to keep before that time.

Is this something they've mentioned before? I rather liked the public, private forums, and other guild tools online.

Dunno if they mentioned it before, am not surprised though. The big guilds already had their own sites, the little guilds don't need the tools, and unless they roll out a Star Wars Armory (what would they call it?) there's no real advantages to running on their site rather than your own.

I suppose you've got a point. Guess I need to stop dragging my feet on getting the guild Drupal site up.

I think their guild section was mostly dedicated to pre-launch. They probably don't want to expend the resources necessary to maintain those system after launch when there are so many Free Guild Hosting solutions online.

As a side note, my guild page on the official website gave us a server already. Woot woot.

In your defense, it wasn't very obvious. It was a blurb up on the left-hand side of the screen at the top. They could have at least emailed us or something ... oh well.

They have said that this guild program is ending, but they will have a new Guild support system after launch. No details have been given but when this guild program launched, they said it was all for "pre-game organization".

They are keeping it up after launch so we have time to copy any important info off of it, and hopefully be able to paste it into the new system(my speculation)
