    Hard drive problems

Trying to look into an issue with my mom's computer. It was working fine until a few days ago. Now when she tries to start it up, it won't boot from the hard drive. I got it to boot from cd drive, and tried to repair windows thinking that might have been the problem, but it was saying there was no hard drive detected. The hard drive IS showing in the BIOS, and i tried another hard drive in the computer, but got the same issue. anybody have any ideas? sorry if i left out any info needed.

IF the HardDrive IS actually showing in the BIOS and it's the same one that originally had Windows installed on, it';s likely that the MBR (Master Boot Record) has been corrupted. Running the startup repair tool should usually work in this case. Are you able to get to the Boot From (Floppy, CD, HDD1, HDD2) Choice screen? can you still boot to windows off the Harddrive this way?

When i try to go into startup repair, it tells me there is no hard drive.
