I agree to meet Noden to exchange survival strategies and after hearing the explosions try to suggest to Valeranos that bombing the Walkers won't help much. He could damage a section of our building creating another entry point for the walkers, plus explosives are a lot less likely to take them out and might even create little zombie head land minds. Explosive largely depend on shrapnel to do most of the killing, and it would require a lot of luck for a pice of shrapnel to kill more than a couple of zombies. Plus the sound will draw even more in our direction.

The explosives can be handy for creating emergency exits in a pinch or getting into sealed buildings for supplies when necessary. But for now just keep them handy.

We should also have a plan to dispose of corpse, weather Walkers we put down our living who die for other reasons. Decaying flesh can spread infections that can be as fatal as a walker biting us.

I sip a bottle of scotch and smoke a cigarette watching the TV. A Glock on the end table to my left, loaded.
A wardrobe and couch block the door and the windows are open. I hear people in the halls moving around but decide not to leave my Apt.
Gun shots ring off outside and I hear screams. Might as well keep drinking. So thats what I do.

Really? Oh shit. I was just working with some highly volatile explosives. An earth quake would have likely caused them to explode, and that wouldn't be good.

Due to the strange sounds from inside I have decided to remain on the roof for a while longer. I also make a mental note to inform everyone that (most likely due to the explosions set off by Valeranos) a large group of walkers seems to be heading this way from the east.

http://www.christchurchquakemap.co.nz/ 9222 earthquakes and counting, i think i will be fine. well unless the aparetment building came down, then its game over for this story.

I would try to divide the apartment into 4 types of people. the first type would be the zombie hunters, 2nd would be zombie bait, 3rd would gather supplies/find survivors, and the 4th would be the builders who would go to the local construction company to get a bunch of machinery to create a moat around as much of the city as possible. I would then divide everyone into groups. Group one would consist of 4 hunters,2 bait and all of the construction people. Group 2 would have 4 hunters and 4 bait and would clear out the surrounding streets. The last group would consist of 5 gatherers, and 3 bait and 5 hunters and 2 builders, they would clear each house/building in the area and then make it zombie proof. We would then make one nearby apartment floor the zombie test building where we place people who we think may be infected in to see if they turn(each in a separate room so they dont affect others.) This building would be guarded by 7 hunters and have only one entrance.

Since its the first day it should be relatively easy to clear out the surrounding area and it would probably take several days/weeks before any neighboring zombies come wandering nearby and we should have our moat built by then. After we complete the moat we will construct a wall behind it and set up a drawbridge system. I will then go to the nearest gator farm and fill the moat with them.

I'll just assume the earthquake wasn't enough to set off the explosive compound I was making.

After being informed that a large group of zombies was moving towards the building, I took my TPG-1 to the roof with a large amount of ammo to wait. That is, after I locked my specially reinforced door, in all ten places.

After things seemed to have quited down i headed back inside, remembered to inform everyone of what i observed and proceeded back to my appartment. For now i will grab something to eat and ponder my next move, I might even socialise with some of the residents about my conserns and other oppinions on the situation.

Mentions to Frogger that while its true zombies cant swim, they also cant drown, and a moat wont be full proof. Even if you dont mean a moat filled with water, after enough walkers get piled in newer ones will just shamble over the old ones.

    ---------- Post added 2011-12-18 at 02:27 AM ----------

After being informed of the incoming walkers, I suggest doubling efforts to reenforce the barracades and securing of supplies. If possible we should find a way of destroying the staircase from the first floor without damaging the building otherwise.

Then we should prepare to bunker down and stay quiet and find a way to silently take out walkers till the rest lose interest and wander off.

Then I realize ive been up for the better part of 24 hours and secures my area and goes to get some sleep untill its my time for watch.

    ((and real sleep as well))

I come out of my room C-9 after a nice long nap finding out about the zombies i pull out my crossbow & quiver along with a .44 with plenty of ammo.I try to find someone to partner up with to go try and find possible safe zones that would provide us with another holdout zone if we must relocate.

I wait in my apartment and bide my time until I see an opportunity to safely collect a sample of zombie flesh, fresh soil, some maggots, and some flies. While handling zombie flesh I'm very careful to not let it come into contact with my skin or anything I would normally touch. I handle it with a pair of tongs and thick gloves. If I have access to fire I heat the tongs in fire after every time I use them to touch the zombie flesh. If I'm forced to be divided into one of the 4 groups of people I'd prefer to be a builder, but would prefer to be left to my research.

    I live in B-3.

((Am I allowed to have access to weapons I own in real life? If so I have a hand forged, battle ready, Japanese wakizashi. Full tang made of high quality steel that the US military uses for tank armor. It's razor sharp and ready to decapitate people, and can easily cut through cars in one swing. I have 5 years of formal Kenjutsu training in its use.))

I will offer my services in helping to scavenge for supplies that are needed from various places, utilizing my knowledge in self defense and my small body build (I'm also fairly athletic). While also trying to offer as much advice as I see necessary for our groups survival, without trying to lead since I'm a terrible decision maker and am relatively poor at constructing team work. I would leave most decision making up to Necrotan since he seems to be fairly in tune with what is required in a leadership role in said situation. I would also encourage us not trying to unite with other semi-large groups of people from fear of betrayal or some power hungry dictator type leader who is trying to form some sort of cult/dictatorship (humans are very greedy creatures and no man wants to follow another once given a since of importance).

I'm the resident of apartment C-1.

seeing that everything seems to go decently
we have food and a good defense
i suggest that we capture a single living zombie somewhere to use for researching them
to find any weakness, cures from bites etc.
i go to the roof and keep and eye on the streets while the others talks about this idea.
    (i live in C-3)

I live in B10. I'm a ex-cop and a little paranoid. I knew the zombie apocalypse would happened and kept many weapons/food in stock. At the first sign of zombies I block my door so no one can come in. I hear the scream's of someone outside. I hide in my closest with my hand gun.

I tell you that I'm already in the process of researching the zombies, but we should start with dead flesh, and only use a living zombie for research once there's no more to be learned from dead specimens.

seeing how zombies are basicly dead meat, I would just stay in my appartment for a week or 2 until they were all dead or atleast thinned out by decombustion /eaten "alive" by flies, birds, maggots etc. and if these are able to turn into zombies we're all pretty much fucked, gl protecting ourself vs flies.

I've noticed that the walkers do not seem to be decomposing at anywhere near a normal rate. I went to school for biology and worked as a zoo keeper for several years. I've seen plenty of dead things at various stages of decomp, and understand how it works. These things are abnormal, it is as if all life, even carrion eaters and bacteria, want to avoid these things.

so I called my buddy over in b-8 asking how my dogs and supplies were doing. He just told me about the situation at hand and that things are slowly getting worse. I've decided to round up some local people that would help out and we're on a bus back into town to help you all out. REINFORCEMENTS ON THE WAY!!!!!

I'd give you an inch, you'd take me a mile, your tail wagging happily all the while.

I board worgenite's bus as he passes by and notices me. Armed with a semi automatic .22 rifle that I found and attached a scope to, I had to flee my home with few supplies as zombies rushed in. All I have are a few cans of food, and the bullets I found near the rifle. No bites, no injuries, I saw few zombies as I made my way through the area, didn't shoot as I am low on ammo and they were not threats.

I am the combination of nerdy, socially awkward, and very attractive gamer girl from C-9.
My name is Robyn "Moon" (Unknown last name)

Being paranoid and a zombie fanatic, I am a known couponer and hoarder of supplies. (How convenient, huh?)
Water, Canned food, Instant foods, medical supplies, batteries, Electronics, portable power supplies, water cleansing tablets, etc...
Almost everything you could need in this type of emergency.....except guns!!!!!!
However, I do have combat swords that I keep as décor and a high-end bow with tons of arrows. Read: I'm the Darryl Dixon from The Walking Dead of this thread.

No one knows much about me, just that there's something 'off' about me, that I play music very loudly and according to the landowner, I am a "hoarder" and a "crazy cat lady".

My intentions are to stay safe....stay hidden...but be prepared and not to let my guard down....whether it be neighbors trying to take advantage of the supplies I own when they come to my door to see if I'm still occupying my room.....or zombies trying to break in.

I will defend the area I live in until I have no other choice but to leave.
