Sith Inquisitors are the Frost Mages of SW:TOR, especially to melee. They have many utilities, a lot of control. Nothing my Commando can't handle though!
Why am I back here, I don't even play these games anymore

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.

Just don't roll a Marauder for pvp that's my advise.

Oh they aren't half as bad as frost mages, they don't have half of the CC, escape tools and are even squishier imo. If anything I'd compare the inquisitor to death knights because everybody has one but not many play them well. Additionally, many players are stuck in a ranged mentality, they can turret well enough but when you get in their face they don't know how to deal with it.

To hit the OT, any class with good stuns is doing well, and that's most of them. Imo the only class lagging behind really is the sentinel/marauder but only in a 1v1 setting, with good team support the damage they put out is one of the highest.

If I had to give you a straight answer though I'd say the trooper/bounty hunter classes, either AC. They deal impressive damage and strangely people don't target them like they do a gunslinger/sniper. People see that portable shield go up and zero in on that while the heavier gunners ironically go unnoticed. Just what I've observed.

So you are saying when I start PVPing with my sniper, I will be a primary target? Then it will be just like WoW with my mage

Not the primary target necessarily, but I have observed that lightsabers and colorful portable cover tend to draw more people in than the commandos/mercs who are allowed to stand back and nuke. To be fair though, when I am allowed to sit behind my little wall on my gunslinger I can do crazy damage. That's not to say I'm inconvenienced too badly when I'm not allowed to hunker down, smugglers have lots of CC on the move and if its for the good of the team I'll gladly tank all of the other players while my commando friend mows them all down.

OP I would also refer you to this thread regarding your interest in the Inquisitor.

To summarize though, Inquisitors are everywhere. They are half of your team sometimes. And having so many is horrendously annoying. However they seem to be countered by Troopers/Bounty Hunters and Smugglers/Agents while tending to have an advantage over the JK/SW.

thats what i kinda thought jedi sages were.i thought sith inquisitors were more like the rogues of sw tor

although to be honest, really.all i want in terms of pvp is to roll the class that everyone just wants to smash there keyboard in frustration when they fight it which(maybe its because i pvp as a arms warrior in wow)frost mages pretty much do the job when it comes toraging in pvp

so let me see if i got this right now

the sith inquisitor isnt like rogues in wow its like frost mages? i mean,im not sure if im goin sith or jedi yet but i figured they had similar classes on both sides.because i thought that jedi sage was like frost mages and sith inquisitor was like rogues in world of warcraft

plus from what i was lookin at,i know frost mages in wow are a caster class.sith inquisitors looked like a melee class, unless they have a melee version of a frost mage in sw tor

when you roll sage/inquisitor (faction dependent on the name of the -class-) you get to choose your "specc" either melee dps/rogue)/tank or healer/range dps. you can't change after you've made your pick

  11. #11
so sage/inquisitor with caster spec=frost mage in wow?

i didnt really see the whole choosing melee dps/tank/heal/range dps thing when i was lookin at class info, all i saw was the classes and like the 2 choices you can pick from(like for example, jedi knight had guardian and sentinal)

  12. #12
Sith Inquisitor and Jedi Consular are the same class.

Sorcerer/Sage and Assassin/Shadow are the two different specs of each of them. Sorcerer/Sage is the magic caster and Assassin/Shadow are melee DPS with stealth.

I get it, and i've never even played the game...

    inquisitor = jedi counselor
sage is a subspec of JC, witch you get to pick at some point in the game, that is like a frost mage. hope you got it....

    ya

i guess it depends on if i like playin em in pve to.cuz i dont really plan on just pvping in sw tor unless i hate the pve.ive just basically been goin by my expierance with what classes ive liked playing in wow and seein if they got any ones that look similar in star wars tor

although now that i remember, one of the things i hated about casters in wow is you cant move and cast at the same time.is it that way in star wars tor to or can you move while casting.i think i heard by someone who was in beta that one of the classes was like a caster that could move while casting but i dont think he was playin a sage or sorcerer

The Sorcerer and Sage specialisations are overpowered to the eyeballs.

Truth be told - I love my Marauder with my friend healing me up as a Sorceror.

    The damage is awesome.

hmm, think ill try it then but i dont know.it depends if i go to my first warzone and see 90 percent of the people running around as eather sorcerer's or sages because ive never been the type to roll fotm classes

i just know the pvp video i watched of the sage they looked pretty fun.i know sith inquisitors look fun to though so i might end up doing that if sorcerers and sages end up being the fotm class

Maruaders become retarded good when they get their 45s cooldown vanish that sprints you and stun. They just a late bloomer.

PVP I would be a Jedi/sorcerer/sage - having played a few hundred PVP matches even with 600 expertease as my mara, i avg 200,000 dmg in battlegrounds and Sith inq, and jedi sage do about 300,000+ thats a massive DPS difference. They seem to spam one move which is a rooting move and blast you down with the force in about 2 casts your dead even with 18k health. Its utterly pointless when you get a match with more then 1 sage, when they group up they can own a relentless wave of attacks burning down anything. Their OP beyond stupid. Its so overbalanced your left thinking whats the point even playing!!! Until they balance it dont play... its pretty demorolising.
