Sunwell, Ulduar and the two main t11 raids, BWD and BoT.

Once per expansion, Blizzard gets it right.

#1 - Pre-Nerf Sunwell Plateau (by far the best, nothing comes close...was so much fun to be in a bleeding edge guild back then...the pinnacle of the min/max mentality and the difficulty of keeping up as a shadowpriest. Killing M'uru before the nerf was the most exhilarating and rewarding experience of my WoW "career.")

#2 - Naxx 40 (cleared all but Sapph / KT, so many bosses....so many new mechanics for its time, simply amazing. Being a hunter then was fun.)

#3 - The Eye/TK (only because of pre-nerf Kael'Thas...an absolute ball-buster of a boss that had so many new mechanics).

    Worst Raids
BWL - cheesy encounters (wall hugging chromaggus, anyone?)
AQ40 - before you had 20+ people with a bug mount

Dragon Soul. Challenging and fun encounters.

I came in this thread to support my homie Ulduar.
My Cracked articles, writing blog, and Twitter.

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.

    Ulduar. No question.
I am American mentally, with Japanese tendencies.

    WoW: Naxx40
TBC: Shared between SSC/TK and BT. Never did get to do Sunwell at the current tier so no comment there.
    WotLK: Ulduar
Cata: havent done any raiding outside of DS LFR so cant comment :P

ICC and Nax in Wrath, loved them.

Worst is Ulduar or tier 11 after farming it for what seemed years.

    By expansion

    Vanilla: BWL (Naxxramas close second)
    TBC: Karazhan
    Wrath: ICC
    Cata: DS

That's being unfair if you ask me. Karazhan was a great raid and as much as Ulduar it had a unique feeling to it. Think if Karazhan was added as the bonus raid for 2.4 rather than Sunwell and tuned accordingly.

    For me:
Vanilla: AQ40 (although there was the issue of the running back at release which I never experienced in full :P)
TBC: BT (SSC and TK are close seconds, Karazhan was great too, Sunwell, Hyjal and the rest were a step below)
WotLK: : Ulduar (frankly Ulduar is the best raid ever made in WoW. This was clear even in the first few weeks of 3.1. ICC is a solid second. ToC is probably one of the worst raids ever made: it has the same feeling of a subpar dungeon)
Cata: Firelands (the only decent raid with BWD a distant second)

In general Cata is the worst expansion ever made for raiding; Wotlk probably the second worst thanks to 3.2 being possibly the worst patch ever and 3.3 dragging on for almost a year; Vanilla was slightly better than WotLK overall; and TBC was hands down the best, no patch with lame or boring raiding.

I do have to agree that all of the TBC raids were pretty epic.

    Vanilla: ... Lol Raiding
BC: Tie between Kara and Sunwell (my that's quite a time gap)
    WotLK: Ulduar ofc
Cata: Urgh..none of them have really hit home with "Holy crap the effort, the architecture...the story...the build up") None of them.
Bastion of Twilight might have done it had it been longer, better constructed and with some twists. BWD was just Nefarian being a giant troll. Al'Akir was a popcorn raid. Firelands gave me a headache, and Dragon Soul isn't really giving me a good feeling either, I judge raids on overall experience and having 2 of the fights, the last two be a little bit creative is kind of sad.

Ulduar will always be my all time favorite. I liked every fight. I liked the story, I liked the build up from the first whispers of Yogg-saron in Howling Fjord to the panic of realizing that Killing Loken in Halls of Lightning has triggered the end of the world. Holy. Crap. was that a good twist.

Tough choice for me as i really enjoyed wotlk raiding as did cata. However i really enjoyed totc as it was a different raid compared to others as it had no trash and it felt like we where actually champions trying to win the right to battle the LK.
