    Pretty much all mmo's require this, it's just to start the subscription. They will not charge you untill your first free month is up.

    What pissed me off about this was, I got the digital copy form orgin ( EA) then the card I used I couldn't sub with...........

    This is because Blizzard can't do it with the game being free to play up to level 20 these days (they did have this requirement back in the day though), this isn't a new practice, basically all new MMO's have this requirement, it eventually gets relaxed when free trials and the likes come in to play.

    I literally just bought my girlfriend the digital version of the game, as well as WotLK like 2 weeks ago, when the game went on sale.
    She was required to input her credit card to continue.

    It's kind of shady and I hear it's a recent change they made. I'm pretty sure they did it because their sales are no where near what they thought they would be so they are trying to inflate their subscription numbers while simultaneously hoping some people forget to cancel.
