Closed thread / Read thread bug

If a thread is locked, it's impossible to mark it as 'read'. Even 'mark forum as read' does not do the trick. It will keep showing as having new, unread posts.

It's probably a minor niggle (seeing how nothing can be added anymore), but it's a bit annoying when trying to keep track of what you've read or not.

The big picture of a lock should be enough of an indication, no?
Why am I back here, I don't even play these games anymore

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.

It is, but it's still bugging me that it refuses to go to 'read' status.

Works for me (on both this account and a non-mod test account). What browser and browser extensions are you using, and what forum are you trying to mark read? Also, can you provide a screenshot?

I've experienced this quite a bit as well on Chrome, only extensions I have are Adblock Plus and Reddit Enhancement Suite.

If you go lock a thread, I've recently posted it I can grab a screenshot for ya.

    Which version of chrome?

Also, try clearing cache and cookies for good measure..

The post below was marked as unread before I clicked the "mark forum as read" link.

Chrome is 16.0.912.63. Clearing cache and cookies did nothing.

What's the problem in that screenshot? Looks like they're marked as read as far as I can tell?

The red icon refers to an unread post in a thread you're subscribed to.

edit: I stand corrected, the red just means it's a hot thread...

2nd edit: new suggestion then, make the "hot thread with unread posts" and "hot thread with no unread posts" icons a different background colour for easier interpretation.

Actually, I think that's the case. There's little enough difference between 'new post' and 'hot thread' that I just didn't notice with the lock on it.

Working as intended, but I can't say that I like it either. I'd like the "hot topic!" to be cleared with the reading of the newest posts.
    mhm? mhm.
