Alrighty, so first things first, sorry this is in the wrong spot. (if it is)

I'm currently stepping back into raiding after a long hiatus. I'm currently specced affliction with a demo offspec.

I'm trying my hardest doing everything I can possibly do to get my dps up an dI can't seem to get it to go higher. I DI the right targets (Spriest or boomkin depending on the gear of each, firemage if none of the other two are present. Healer typically if none of the three are there or a sub rogue)

I prepot when I can, save second pot for execute/BL phase, doomguard at start usually (Depending on fights) and DS on CD.

Any tips to help me out here?

Also, I know I need power torrent on rathak I just got it last night and didn't have time to enchant it lol was using Volcanospike with the offhand before.

Well, you haven't even said what sort of dps that you're doing, without logs we can't see. I would suggest running simcraft with your character and seeing what the percentile difference between you and the sim is.

Remember that even on a fight like Ultraxion where you don't move at all it is between impossible and extremely unrealistic to hit the actual number your simcraft shows. This is due to the fact that the simcraft is literally perfect and has 100% uptime. (You don't due to heroic will and pushback caused by his aoe)

I'm averaging between 25-30k on Ultra as Affliction. I simmed myself last night and got 42k, which I realize isn't going to happen on Ultrax due to the heroic will and the pushback, but I feel I should be closer to that number than I am.

I know the basics of my class, and even a few of the more in depth things,like dot clipping, refreshing haunt during execute phase etc. But I just can't seem to push higher numbers than that on fights where I easily should be able to.

I'm not sure you're actually in trouble. You're at 380 ilvl and as you say you're just below what I'm doing.

My first time doing Ultraxion as Aff instead of Demo, there's much I can do to improve but I try do to things like hit Heroic will at under 2 seconds left:

14.5 second uptime on Heroic will hitting it 8 times is about 1.8 second average. I need to hit shadowflame a lot more and get started on the fight faster. That and use potions.

Are you doing that dps in 10 or 25m? Im doing this in 25m, my 10m dps has been like...18-22k

your simming 33k according to my sim. my ilevel is 392 and i sim 42k. not sure how you got 43k. (guessing a typo)

honestly your gear is not very good. i think you are doing just fine if you can really pull 30k on ultrax

i was simming about 39k when i defeated ultrax last week. i did 36k dps on the kill. so if you are simming 33k and doin 30k on the kill then that is good.

hmmm I'l have to check my simcraft, I may have done something wrong...like used the BiS list as opposed to my actual gear. I'll double check that when I get home.

As to my gear, yea I know it sucks. I lost my job, home and car all in two weeks so I had to quit wow right after 4.2 to be honest. I got in a little raiding here and there but nothing concrete enough to actually raid with.

But if your sim is accurate then woo! I'm in a better place than I thought! lol
