CPU Cooler: You're old fan should work if you remove its back plate from the old motherboard. You could pick up a coolermaster hyper212+ if that isn't an option, but there is the question of there being enough clearance. Should cost you about $20-25 USD.

Wiring: For connecting those wires properly, you'll want to refer to your manual's F_Panel Header schematic on Page 30. Typically those wires are usually a colored wire paired with a white wire. The colored wire is the +. If you connect those wrong, it's unlikely that you will fry the motherboard. The lights might behave oddly, like the HDD light being on full time, but it shouldn't damage the board. The CPU Power and Reset wires are just switches that close a circuit, so it doesn't matter with those. Nevertheless, use the schematic to see which pin is the + and which is the -, they may even be labeled on the motherboard as well. Actually, looking at the image on newegg, they are color coded for how you should connect them with black + symbol showing where the colored wire should go.
