If you get 30+ FPS in 25-man raid encounters, what is your build?

I thought I'd ask this question in reverse. I struggle with FPS in 25 man raid encounters. I'd like to buy a new computer. Does anyone here get 30 FPS or higher in 25 man raid encounters? And if so, what is your build? Is it a pre-built, or did you build it yourself? Did you tweak it in any way to boost performance? If so, how? TIA!

Some of the DS encounters there's alot of aoe and things happening arround, normally I'm playing with 25-35 fps on those encounters and 40-50 on bosses like hagara (this is on full graphics)

i5 2500k @ 4.3ghz 8gigs of ram, and an 8800gts(I know, I need a new video card). I usually get about 60fps in trade district, even when its jammed, around 90(even though im limited by the monitor at 60) in dalaran, 40 fps or so in 25 mans, with the occasional 25 or so on crazy boss fights like ultraxion.

    It's fine to have one.
It's fine to be proud of it.

This is an old video of mine from back when I was doing 25 man raids in WoW and I have been watching the fps counter down in the bottom-left corner and while yes, Fraps was forcing it to record at 30 fps, you can imagine I was getting more than that whilst not frapsing. Granted this is on a 1680x1050 monitor at the time, I've since moved to a 1920x1080 and quit WoW, but I can guarantee 30fps at least with my setup during 25 man raids - and this was the game almost nearly maxed out save 16x AA.

    Here are specs and clocks:

    (I built it)
    i5-2500K@4.0GHz (at the time)
MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560 Ti@880Mhz core clock
    Asus P8P67 mobo
    8GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM Corsair XMS3
playing game off of a Crucial m4 128GB SATA III SSD
recording to 1TB Seagate 7200RPM drive
Cooler Master HAF X is my case.
CPU cooled by a Zalman CNPS 9900ALED
I think that should be all that matters. Don't film gaming footage above 30fps! It will own your HDD in seconds. ;p

Well, I haven't done the raids on my new comp yet, but when I last did it I got around 25 fps on 4gb of ram, Phenom X4 9750 2.4ghz, and Radeon 5770. Over the holidays I got a new build that has an i5 2500k OC'ed to 4.1ghz, GTX570, and 8gb's of ram. Although I think that with my new setup I can without a doubt get above 30+ fps in 25m.

EDIT: Just did LFR Recently and on Warlord when you have to stack, the lowest I dropped to was 25 FPS.

Lowest fps is ~20-30 at ultraxion on max settings apart from shadows which are on high

(self built) - £1243 at the time with monitor/keyboard/mouse/W7

Cpu: Intel Core i5-2500K Overclocked to 4.4ghz
Gpu: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6970 2048MB
    Ram: 8gb (2x4gb) 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance
Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Intel P67 (Should go for the newer chipset P8Z68)
    HDD: 2x Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB
PSu: Corsair HX 750W ATX Modular
case: Cooler Master CM-690 II Advanced Dominator

Gpu is probably overkill for wow but I wouldn't drop the cpu for anything else currently available without a lot more money to waste or if I used a lot of applications which could take advantage of more then 4 core's.

Pre-built, unfortunately, I learnt how to build my own 3 months after I ordered it and wanted to kill myself when I realized how much I had wasted.

    3000-4000$ @ Originpc.com

The specs are "Fat Betty" on my signature, with the case being Corsair Obsidian 800D
    i7-6700k 4.2GHz | Gigabyte GTX 980 | 16GB Kingston HyperX | Intel 750 Series SSD 400GB | Corsair H100i | Noctua IndustialPPC
    ASUS PB298Q 4K | 2x QNIX QH2710 | CM Storm Rapid w/ Reds | Zowie AM | Schiit Stack w/ Sennheiser HD8/Antlion Modmic

I have the same as above, core i7 2600k @4.5Ghz, and a 580 (not sli, but then again WoW doesnt scale beyond a single gpu, so its the same performance)

anyways, on full ultra I usually get over 100 fps, in 25 man raids I never go below 60fps. a core i7 is ~$300, mobo $150-200 ish, and 580 ~$480

Just finished a LFR where I lost a polearm on my hunter to a balance druid with the legendary staff, I'm not mad. Anywhoo, I had my fps meter on the entire time and I didn't drop below 40 fps at any point on any fight. My specs and settings:

    i3 2100 + gts 250

every graphic option on the left @ ultra.. shadows low, water low, sunshafts off and particle density low. Also playing @ 1080p so I'm still impressed that my rig performs decently in a 25m raid setting

i get about 40 fps in 25s and 50ish in 10s and 80+ flying around the world. only payed about 300$ for my system i built.

    intel core i3-2120 ~120$
    gigabyte GA-H61M-S2-B3 motherboard ~ 50$
    8 gigs ripsaw ram ~ 40$
    nvidia gt520 1gig ddr2~40$
alrdy had a old 7200 rpm 160gig barracuda drive i reused, i play with everything on high and love it.
same as above i play at 1920x1080 res

I'm on the 2500K bandwagon myself. Overclocked to 4600mhz though.

Also similar results to most, 60fps everywhere except for rare situations, Ultraxion being one. Although I also run in maximized windowed mode.

    i5 2500k @ 4.6GHz
    ASRock P67 Extreme4 motherboard
    8GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600MHz
    Radeon 5770 @ stock

Staring at 60fps in Valley of Strength, Orgrimmar currently. Raid dips to 40fps during the worst spots in Dragon Soul, 55+ at normal spots.

[edit: I should note that this is at 1080p, shadows on low, 8xAA, 16xAF, and everything else at max.]

Only done one (1) Cataclysm non-BH raid thus far, being the LFR I ran yesterday.

I run everything flat out Ultra, but lowered the Shadows to the lowest before I even started, from Ultra. I kept the resolution (1920x1080), AA (x8), AF (x16) and spell details as they were.
I saw dips down to 45~ at worst, but truth be told, I wasn't paying grave attention.

    intel core i5 760 @ 4.0 GHz
Gigabyte P55A-UD3 (the only thing holding me back, and the only reason I intend to replace everything is this outdated horrid mobo :P)
    4x2048 MiB Corsair XMS3 @ 1600 MHz, 9-9-9-24
ASUS Radeon HD6970 2GiB, DirectCu II @ 1010 core, 1525 VRAM (not 100% stable, but I've lowered the vCore rather than increased it, so that should explain it)

Built it myself in November 2010.

You're either lying, running a 800x600 resolution, or simply don't have shadows + 16x AA (multisampling) on. 60FPS during 25m combat is impossible even with Sandy Bridge E + GTX 590s, so it's surely not happening on your hardware.

Please refrain from such exaggerations on the off chance that OP takes your false statement as fact and builds something based on what you said.

Dual 590's wouldnt do much in the way of staying above or at 60. Beyond extreme resolution dual(dual)gpu's wouldnt do much at all for wow or any low end graphic game, almost like driving a porsche w/ the Ebrake on.

    i5-2500k 4.5Ghz
    ASRock p67 Extreme4 Gen3
    8gb Gskill sniper 1600mhz

    HAF 922 case
Sapphire Radeon 6950 (6970 shaders unlocked and overclocked to 920mhz)
    23" AOC 1920x1080 LED

lowest ive seen is 47fps w/o recording like 28-30 lowest recording.

Strange, I have pretty good computer, but I get around 10 FPS in 25 man raids. Reason why I stopped raiding with 25 man groups...
    My speccs:

    Intel core quad q9300 (4-core) @2,5GHz
    2x2GB 1066 DDR 2 mushkin RAM
    P5Q-Pro Asus mobo
128GB SSD + raid 5 (3 disks 500GB) - I have system and WoW on SSD else on normal disks
    Nvidia 260GTX 800+VRAM

I have limited FPS to max 60 (I don't see why I should run my gfx on more). In cities I don't get 60, only if I'm in some lone part of city. Normally around 40-50. Outside cities I get 60 without problems. In 10 man raids I have 40 FPS and in 25 man sometimes even lower than 10FPS. I have turned shadows off and everything else on high (I have tried puttin everything on low but I get same low FPS, so I don't think it's about graphics as I have pretty good one for that game). My question: is it CPU or it is really RAM that affects FPS that much? SO should I buy 4 more gigs?

I have checked in stores in my country. It's almost impossible to get 1066MHz RAM anymore so shall I buy 4 more gigs of 800MHz and downclock present RAM and use 8 gigs at 800MHz?

It's honestly not that good of a computer, anymore, at least. 4GB of DDR2 RAM, old quad core only at 2.5GHz (yes I said only), and an old NVidia GTX 260, this is pretty dated.

CPU affects fps the most, but with only 4GB of RAM, especially DDR2 on an old system, you will be bottlenecked. Your best bet to see considerable improvement would be a full upgrade, though you could take the SSD/HDDs from your current rig on to your new rig if you chose to upgrade.

My FPS is capped at 60.

    8GB 1600 Gskill RAM
    Phenom IIx4 BE 555 OC'd only from 3.2 to 3.5ghz
    Radeon HD 6670
ASUS microATX mobo (it was $50 brand new, lol)
Microsoft USB Headphones w/mic (USB headphones usually have their own audio, so it doesn't bog the system down, and they have decent quality)

All detail on max, DX11 (I only raise/lower particle density and shadows to see better on encounters, not for performance)

Graphics card to handle spell detail
    RAM/CPU to handle draw distance
RAM/CPU to handle lots of players (25's/major cities)
I have a sh***y 5400RPM hard drive from 2006, but that really only affects load times

In both 25's and major cities at peak hours, I am at 50-60fps consistently.
    1600x900 res, 8xFSAF, 4xFSAA, max detail settings
Mursenary (Blood/Frost PvP) - Archimonde US
Narahinto (Resto PvE/Resto PvP) - Archimonde US

See my sig. The only thing I strongly suggest is the 560 Ti for a GPU - will handle WoW at all high in 25 man settings at 60 FPS (high, not ultra - shadows are a bitch)

Oh trust me, I'm fully aware. WoW doesn't even break 50% on my 6750 that I have in my secondary computer. I was just making the point that even the highest end hardware available cannot do what he claimed.

Higher AA settings play a huge part in it too.
