    Real News Network

I thought I'd start a thread here to talk about The Real News Network(TRNN), a grassroots news network that financially relies entirely on donations by its viewers and the viewers have a say in the issues that are covered. They have about 54 000 subscribers on YouTube,

They cover a range of issues that are usually not given much attention in mainstream-media, both in the US and Europe, such as neoliberal globalization, market fundamentalism, climate change, immigration and deindustrialization, anti-capitalism, political, social and economic democracy, Fair Trade, criticism against U.S. foreign policy, workers' rights etc. Generally, they have a keynesian, liberal, social democratic/socialist view on their issues, though libertarians are sometimes invited to the programme aswell.

They have their own reporters across the world and have offices in several places in the U.S., with plans to expand next year. Those invited to the programme to discuss problems and offer solutions to them include economists, professors, activists, scientists, researchers, authors and so on. Some notable figures who have been on the programme are Noam Chomsky, famous professor, author and activist; Lawrence Wilkerson, former National Security Advisor to the Reagan administration and advisor to Colin Powell; William K. Black, former lawyer, author and bank regulator, key figure in exposing Congressional corruption in the Savings and Loans Scandal of the 80's; Zbigniew Brzezinski, former U.S. foreign minister, and Dr. Heiner Flassbeck, former vice-minister at the federal finance ministry in Germany and Director of UNCTAD.

Below is a small sample of videos

I strongly recommend to follow their channel, the amount of knowledge and insight I've gained from their videos is nowhere to be found in the dumbed-down mainstream-media or mindless blabbering on 99% of TV-channels.

It's not hard to be more legit then cnn / fox, hell the daily show is a more credible source of news these days.

I'm getting some hints of liberal bias from this show. But it still seems pretty credible, a lot more so then anything on tv infact.[COLOR="red"]

Already subscribed to the channel quite some time ago, but I do recommend checking it out, it's a very good source of news and information.

If you're tired of the neoconservative, warmongering crap being spewed out by Fox, the neoliberal trash across mainstream-media and the general blending of information and entertainment into "infotainment" without analysis, perspective or afterthought, then I'd say this channel is the right one for you.

Q: What's the difference between fascism and libertarianism?
A: Under fascism, you are starved of your freedom. Under libertarianism, you are free to starve.
