Sith Juggernaut vs. Sith Marauder, which do I pick?

So, taking a bit of a break from my BH and i'm deciding to level up a sith warrior. Which advanced class is better? I do like to DPS but I am also interested in tanking, though my BH is a powertech shield specialist so I can tank with him. How well does the juggernaut do at DPS compared to a marauder?

Jugg can dps nearly as good as a marauder and will be easier to level with.

If you ever plan on tanking with him, go Jugg. If not, go Marauder. BW is saying that Jugg DPS is where they want it. If that DPS is equivalent to Marauder, which can't tank, we'll likely see either that AC buffed or Jugg nerfed.

And you'll be like darth vader, unlike marauder. Throw sabers etc and etc. correct me if marauders can throw sabers aswell. Never played sith warrior for higher than 14.

I haven't had a problem leveling my Maruader although I'm only 28. I constantly find myself switching between Vette and Quin as Vette does some really nice aoe damage and is great for AOEing down packs of weaker mobs. I can't tell you about Juggernaut but if you don't plan to tank then 2 lightsabers is too awesome to pass up.

Personally I like the aesthetics of fighting with only one light saber compared to two. The dual sided sabers are right out for fighting, because I feel they look too silly. But for me, I like the feel and flow of a one handed weapons fighter compared to two. So Juggernauts are just as DPS capable as Marauders, then?

Yeeey I'm not the only one who thinks that dual wielding isn't the end all be all of coolness.

I guess i'm going to go Jug then, just hopefully they have solid DPS!

I've not paid much attention to it, but it seems to me to be the opposite on my server.
As far as the choice goes, aesthetically, the Marauder looks far better in my opinion than the Juggernaut (for the most part). I'm not talking about the two lightsabres, although it does factor in that the combat with a Marauder looks fairly awesome. The gear Juggernauts get is a lot chunkier, with round shoulders and strange, overlong capes, whereas the Marauder gets hooded robes.
Gameplay wise, there seems to be little reason to pick a Marauder over a Juggernaut. Even if you never want to tank, the DPS difference seems negligible, although the difference in survivability is noticeable. A lot of people have also said that Marauder DPS is more complicated with no compensation for very skilled play.

Can hoods be removed ala hats or helmets? I don't always like a hood or something similar covering up the details of my characters face.

Hoods are currently not able to be removed. I know that the community has been asking for that to be an option though. I believe a dev commented about it being a technical issue right now, but they didn't push it off as not being possible.

Ech, that might just push my decision to Jug by force then.

A Marauder pvp video by Klinda.

I have been leveling a Marauder along side my Sith Sorc and the class is allot of fun to level, I have not tried leveling a juggernaut yet tho.

    Marauders do only dps.
Juggernaughts can dps AND tank if needed and not to mention juggernaught does (in theory) same amount of dps than marauder does.
Juggernaught is this way more useful than marauder ever can be in future for you, for your guild. Even if you dont need to tank right now, you dont gimp yourself by terms of dps.
Plus I've been hearing marauders arent on good position right now - will be fixed possibly but yeah. And lets just say my experience on marauders are people who are mostly "lulz im dps and being (not) useful herpderp"

My personal view on marauders is pretty negative. Ofc if you want to pvp or just casually play the game (hardmore dungeons, leveling, idling) then I would say go ahead whatever you want. But if you are looking for flexible or bit more hardcore (like operations) then juggernaught could be clear choice.
"when women wear makeup they’re basically lying to us"
Well, I don’t see why women are being blamed if man is stupid enough to really think they have red and gold eyelids.

Hoods - depending on your helm, the hoods do tend to disappear and are overlapped by the helm instead.

Progression video for Sith Warrior: http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/...or-progression

I'm not sure if it shows a chest piece with a hood in the video though, and there's a lot of gear that doesn't have a hood.

It does show the late game PVP/PVE gear for the sith warrior in the progression video. A fair amount of it doesn't have a hood.

Wether you choose a robe with a hood, or a long cape its up to you. As long as its Heavy Armor you can wear anything. Personally I prefer a open open robe with a hood. WHich is what Im using on my Juggernaut.

Now, if you enjoy a dual weilding class with great dmg output then a Marauder is the class for you. If you prefer a class with tanking abilities, which makes lvling and Elite killing alot easier but still do nice dmg then pick a Juggernaut. Im currently 46 with mine, and loving it.
