How does Raid IDs work now a days? Are you saved to the entire raid if you kill a boss or just that boss?

For example, lets say you are in one group and kills 7/8 bosses in DS. Are you able to join another group that is also 7/8 and be able to participate on the final boss?

If you join a 7/8 boss and kill the boss you are then saved to it all. If you join a 7/8 raid, but don't down the boss you can join a raid with any amount of bosses down including 0.

Only if you down a boss are you then saved to it's progress.

Yes, unless you are doing heroic (heroic raids still work like the old system.. specific raid id you get saved to).

Said other raid id is 7/8 with one heroic kill (first boss) but other kills on regular. Can someone with another id (without heroic kill) join?

Yes.

If you are joining a raid that is currently doing normal - it doesn't matter whether your kills were heroic or normal, or their kills were heroic or normal. You just can't be locked to that boss.

You are only prevented from joining if they are doing a heroic, AND you have done a heroic in another raidid.
