Xbox Kinect? Yay or Nay?

I've heard that it's unreliable or something like that - the person telling me this was probably biased against it and xbox though.

I vote nay. I have a kinect and its kind of a pain to use it. If you don't have a lot of room and a lot of lighting by your TV then it is pretty terrible. My lamps are behind me the way it is set up and the kinect barely works. I also have to move my coffee table out of the way, and turn my TV at an angle from my couch to have enough room to use it. The sweet spot for it is 8-12 feet from the camera. My couch is 10 feet from my TV so the best spot is like 1 foot in front of the couch if I don't turn my TV stand.
