[Open SRP] Darkness Within The Monastery.

((Edit: This roleplay has begun, and those participating have departed from the initial meeting place. If you wish to join this RP now, please PM me before doing so, so that we can find a way to write you in.))

Notices appeared overnight across Azeroth, within the capitals of the planet's most proud races. As dusk came to pass, forsaken deathstalkers in small groups crept into various capitals, from the highly fortified stronghold of Stormwind, to the tranquil city of Darnassus. Entry into the fortress-city of Orgrimmar and other settlements of the Horde was much easier, as Hero's Call boards everywhere were plastered with notices requiring aid from the adventurers of Azeroth.

Upon the notice which was attached to the boards, each with a dagger branded with the icon of the Forsaken, it said the following:
There has been recent activity transpiring around and inside the Scarlet Monstery, located within the Tirisfal Glades of Lordaeron. The deathstalkers of the Forsaken as well as the Argent Crusade's lightwielders call upon your aid, to halt whatever may be occuring within the abandoned monastery. In months and years passed, the Scarlet Crusade has risen and fallen, till their utter defeat in Northrend. Yet, witness reports say that any fallen Scarlets that could be found have risen, and they now defend the monastery. Led by an unknown individual, all that we know is that he goes by the name of "Vel'Zarin". Yet, this individual's dark presence threatens not only the surrounding area, but the whole the Eastern Kingdom, if the Crusade's ressrection comes to fruition.

This expedition into the final bastion of Scarlet might is a neutral mission, with no factional conflict. Knights of the Argent Crusade will accompany the venture, working as peacekeepers. We request that all who wish to partake upon this mission meet within the town of Brill, found in the center of the Tirisfal Glades, which has now been set up as a neutral zone between the Forsaken and the Argent Crusade. Fear not, all those that opt in for this will not be shown aggression by those who own the region. To ensure minimum hostility, be respectful to the followers of the Banshee Queen. Disrespect or aggression will not be tolerated.

Be there in two days time, at sunset. Meet with Dame Cayra when you arrive, leader of the Forsaken deathstalkers. She'll be standing aside the statue of Sylvanas, in Brill.

    ____________________________________

Cayra stood within the heart of Brill, armored and prepared for conflict. She briefly gazed away into the distance, evidently bored by this crusader's ramblings. Turning back to the paladin who was to accompany her as their co-leader, she stared with a deathly gaze, almost lifeless.

"Yes yes, Crusader Halford.", she grunted, as she eyed up the male human, clad in his bronzed and ornamented plate. "The servitors of the Dark Lady will not harm any Alliance that aid us. They are assisting in ridding both of us of rodents, so why would we cut them down dishonorably?", she grinned.

"I hope that's true, Dame Cayra. Now we just wait, for our help to arrive.", spoke the male human, shifting uneasily as he looked to the surrounding Forsaken with untrusting eyes. Slowly, he glanced to the overlooking statue, trying to bite back the shiver that ran down his spine.

((This is an Open SRP. We need some life breathed into this forum. Anyone's welcome. Let's kill some undead Scarlets and Vel'Zarin.. whatever he is. Get to Brill (it's all safe, no aggression towards Alliance, but the Forsaken guards may look at you with hatred). Report to Cayra and Crusader Halford aside the statue of Sylvanas. It'll be sunset when you arrive, so make sure you're well rested up.))

((Allow me to direct you to this helpful guide that some sorta cool guy got to update and make look fancy: Joining and Starting an RP ~.^))

Kevin Brenshaw let his horse lead the way as he stared at the necklace in his hand. It had an elvish flair to it and a single named inscribed to it's surface, Saerwen Sunwhisper. She had been quiet all this time, but with the ley lines around the Monastery and the possible knowledge to be gained from the obvious necromancy going on there, Kevin hoped she might awaken again. He didn't believe in any of the ideas behind this crusade against the Monastery and considering the two forces he would be helping gaining any knowledge was even doubtful. Action though, might be something to bring her out again, he thought as he stowed it back around his neck and beneath his robe, hidden from the prying eyes of others.

Kevin encountered a Deathstalker before even reaching the Bulwark guarding the glades. He was taking Kevin directly to Brill, stench and all. They call for help and yet so little trust....oh well.... A quick murmur of fire and a small orb hung overhead to light their way. Day or Night, an unnatural darkness seemed to always linger in this forest. They arrived at the entrance to Brill with a few hours and the Deathstalker left without a word. He didn't seem to like his duty and that gave Kevin a bit of a smirk as he saw the two unlikely pair at the statue in the town center.

While dismounting his horse he spoke,"Well hello there Crusader Halford and Dame Cayra." He dismissed the orb and twisted his hand over and towards his chest in a gesture of greeting. Small sparks of flame, pulses of the arcane and whisps of ice drifted out of his hand with each twist. "Kevin Brenshaw, mage extraordinaire at your service."

((Hey Saerwen, if you see this post before I see you on chat I just wanted to let you know that you don't have to join. Was just adding that bit in so you easily could if you wanted and to keep their pairing up since Knowledge is Power current. If you would like me to change it just let me know ^.^))

"Welcome, Magus Kevin. Any aid is good aid, and I thank you for the assistance. Let us hope that more likeminded individuals arrive soon.", smiled the crusader. Glancing briefly towards the female forsaken, he saw as she stared blankly at the newly-arrived human. Slowly, she looked him up and down, not even changing her emotionless and deathly facial expression.

"Satisfactory. Let us see how potent you are in combat, when the time arises.", she muttered coldly, straightening her posture. Shifting under the weight of her armor, the female undead looked off into the distance, in the direction of the monastery.

A figure, veiled in a dark gray robe, stepped out of one of the houses in Brill.

"No rest for me as it seems." The dark cleric supported himself on his cane. He slowly made his way towards the Statue of the Dark Lady. A lot had changed here, since the Forsaken had taken Undercity for the first time. But as it seems they would not get their peace anytime soon. The Scralets had taken so many blows, but still are able to get up again. Not this time. They will vanish into nothingness. Like all that oppose the Forsaken deserve.

Millard saw that Dame Cayra was already there. Also a Human that reeked of Light. "Bah. Why does it always have to be paladins?" Millard focused on the other person that already arrived. Some kind of spell caster possibly. Millard stepped towards them and bowed before Cayra. He stepped to her right side, a few centimeters behind her. The cleric propped himself on his cane, and await further arrivals or their departure.

Months after the skirmish in Stormwind, Arcturus now found himself on the shores of Lordamere. He had seen, weeks ago, a notice calling heroes to do battle against the Scarlets of Tirisfal Glades. Of course, he had no interest in the Scarlets. He would journey to Lordaeron and gain any possible information about the fortifications and weaponry of the Forsaken.

Obviously, this was no easy task, yet the promised neutrality and tolerance towards the Alliance gave him assurement that his presence will not be welcomed with hostility.
He arrived at sunset, slowly walking into the once Alliance-aligned town. Although it was now guarded by the conjoined Crusade and the Forsaken, the town reeked of what Arcturus hated most: followers of Sylvanas. He glanced around, noting the reinforced forsaken architecture.

Noticing the crowd near the statue he walked towards them, a wide, false grin upon his face.

" Bartholomew Stormcape. I hear the Scarlets are causing trouble...again. Where do I sign ? "

The sound of armored footsteps echoed from the road, resounding through Brill and to those gathered there. Soon, their source could just be made out just beyond the light of the nearest street lamp. Two orbs glowing of an uncanny blue light made their way up the stone path towards the town. Stepping into the lamplight, the new-comer's full form could be made out, as the blue spheres became eyes, set in the grisly face of a lanky but sturdily built troll. His heavy armor shone a dull black, and over his left shoulder, he hefted a large, evil-looking runeblade battle-axe. Over his shoulders and chest he wore a dark tabard, the black and blue great sword of the Knights of the Ebon Blade. At his side shambled a slavering ghoul, its beady, lifeless eyes darting from place to place as it drooled and mumbled next to its master.

"'Bout time somet'in' was done 'bout dese Scahlet bastads," he said as he approached, the underlying metallic echo of undeath permeating his every word. "Grown weary o' waitin' on da Blade to make a move o' deah own ta finish da job we stahted in New Avalon."

The troll pulled a small cigar from beneath his tabard, lit it and took a long drag, the glowing embers illuminating his dark-skinned face. A long scar ran from just right of the bridge of his nose, horizontally across his cheek until it disappeared under the long, white braids that hung from his head in an unruly mass.

"Ah be Kuno'jii," he continued, propping the head of his war-axe on the cobblestone and folding his hands, resting them on the end of the shaft. "Dis heah Wormrot," He gestured to the ghoul. "Don' pay him no mind."

The ghoul shifted his eyes to the troll, his simple consciousness having recognized his name. "Br-...braaaaaainssss?"

Kuno'jii chuckled, "Not now, Worm. Soon... soon."

((Pat, if your worgen hates the Forsaken so much, why would he work with them? His greatest goal is to destroy them. Wouldn't removing the Scarlet Crusade be against Arc's agenda, as they are a threat to the Forsaken's borders, and therefore the Forsaken themselves?))

(( He's well aware the Forsaken will, helped by the Crusade, kill the Scarlets easily. He realises his hand wouldn't speed up the process. His goals here are to observe the defences of Lordaeron and the Forsaken cities in it and gain tactical information for anyone willing to buy it.

    Kinda...like a double agent ))

As Millard arrived, Halford merely dipped his head slightly in respect, whilst gracing the undead with a half-hearted smile. "Dark Cleric Millard, I assume?", heartily spoke the human, having previously been informed by his co-leader. Nodding at the paladin, Cayra turned to the dark cleric and saluted him, obviously pleased to have another competent member of the Forsaken accompanying them. Appearing more content, she continued to survey the others that approached.

This one called himself Bartholomew. He carried a perculiar stench, but Cayra ignored it. It was Halford that stepped forward to greet this other human. "Welcome, Bartholomew. Your attendance is all that is required.", he smiled. Cayra merely stared at the human. There was something strange about him, but she could not put her finger on it. She solely grunted at him.

The last of this batch was a perculiar one. Undead yes, but not one of Lordaeron's fallen subjects. A troll death knight, he was. Since he was undead, he knew of the torment that the Forsaken had faced in the past. Something to respect, if Cayra ignored the fact that he was not a true servitor of the Dark Lady. "I thank you for joining us, Kuno'jii.", spoke the paladin, trying so very hard to ignore the ghoul at his side. Although, since he fought aside the Ebon Blade in Northrend, there was evident respect in his voice. "Welcome.", sluggishly spoke the deathstalker, seemingly more upbeat.

((One more, and we'll get this started.))

Arcturus smiled awkwardly and inclined his head slightly to the other attendings.

" Give me a call when we set out. I will enjoy my lunch on that hill over there. " he said as he pointed towards the Zeppelin Tower. He walked up the hill and sat, taking a few fruits and biting an old apple before pulling out a dusty history book and beginning to write down the details of Brill and his surroundings in a chaotical mix of Common and Darnassian which would cause most readers cringe.

After scribbling a few notes, he put his old book book back in the backpack and watched the town from afar, disgusted by how much Lordaeron had fallen. He wished to see the capital, but now was perhaps not the best time.

The troll bares his teeth in a most unsettling fashion; not quite a grin, more a macabre mockery of one, his wicked tusks curving down then back up towards his forehead.
"Da pleazha be all mine. Like I said, I be eagah ta see dese zealots stamped out like de bugs dey ah, once and foah all."

Kuno'jii's gaze grows distant, at least to those familiar with reading the hollow eyes of undeath. His voice lowers to a contemplative hush.

"Been waitin' a long time foah dis..."

The troll eyes the human, Stormcape, as he withdraws with his food. He turns back to the group and addresses the Deathstalker in the Gutterspeak.

<"Somet'in' be... off... wit dat one..."> The words spewed from his mouth, thick and repulsive as the toxic waste polluting the Undercity sewer itelf.

Carl was quite a tall human, he had a short black beard with a few silver hairs showing, he was wearing a clean white robe. He was wearing a brown bag over his right shoulder.
He was walking through the landscape of Trisfal, he didn't like this place, it smelled... wrong... In the distance he could see the two zepplin towers.
I wonder how the undeads work... I have been told they are conscious, that most mean they can feel pain. Carl giggled to himself Hopefully I will get a chance to test them, I hope they can stay alive longer... I just need a bit more... He could now see the little town known as Brill, as he passed past the two guards at the entrance they throw suspicous glares at him. He returned it with a smile as he inspected them. Rotten meat, Can they still feel pain? Yes... they must Around a statue pictureing a female elf with a bow he saw several people standing.

Greetings my dear people, my name is Carl. It's a pleasure to meet you all, it will be my pleasure to tend to any wounds you might suffer during this trip and I will be sure to be of as much aid as I can He had spoken with a clear and strong voice, and ended the first impression by giving them all a large smile. In his mind he had allredy started playing with his hooks and knifes on them. His smile grew even wider.

"Easy, Worm," Kuno'jii soothed the ghoul, who had begun snarling at the newcomer for no apparent reason.

"You be awfully... cheeaful for a place like dis, human. So fah aweh from home, in de t'ick o' de enemy's camp, ya?" Not one to hold a particular interest in either Horde or Alliance campaigns, Kuno'jii, regardless, never passed up an opportunity to pluck upon the fragile wires of civility strung taut between the two factions. The troll flashes another toothy "smile" at Carl.

"Anyweh, Ah certainly hope ya be of moah use den tendin' to cuts n' scrapes, Doc. I'd like to meet de Scahlet who could do so much as ding mah arma, much less get in a decent hit. And I don' quite be in de mood foah draggin' around no dead weight troo de monastery... Well, heheh, no moah den usual." He glanced down at Wormrot, who was munching away happily on a clump of dirt and gravel he'd just shoved in his mouth.

He takes another long drag on his cigar, then blows the putrid smoke straight into Carl's face.

Carl started coughing from the sudden burst of smoke that the vile troll had blewn in his face. For a second anger flashed through his eyes before he was able to regain control.
You have to excuse my rudeness dear troll, but from where I am we watch where we blow smoke. Someone might consider it as an insult. Carl's eyes shifted for a moment as the full extent of the meaning troll appeared in his mind. A vicious smile appeared on his lips, replacing the serious face he had taken on when speaking with the troll.
Correct me if I am wrong dear troll, but don't your kind got some quite potent regeneration abilities? I have never been much around trolls before... and it could help if I knew these things beforehand if it ever comes a moment that your badly injured...

Carl's mind was racing with excitement, so many different ideas ran through his mind. His eyes longed for an oppertunity to see this creature bleed. His left hand had slowly started to reach for his brown bag that hung on his shoulder.

Suddenly understanding that this chain of thoughts was too distracting for now he cleared his throat. And why shouldn't I be cheerful troll? Are we not here to bring justice on the depraved?

Arcturus slowly walked back to the statue. The sight of the Banshee Queen, the leader of the homicide in Gilneas made him grunt with disgust. He looked at the human, quite surprised to see another here. His reasons to be here were far from being those of helping the Forsaken. The oposite, even.

He peered at the human, noticing the clean white robe. Seeing as how the closest human bastion was Stromgarde, if that can even be considered a bastion, it seemed rather strange for a man that walked halfway across the continent to be...clean.

He tried his best to hide his gilnean accent as he grinned to the human:

" Bartholomew's the name. What brings another child of Stormwind to the North ? "

  17. #17
Carl shifted his attention away from the troll towards the new arrived man.
Greetings Bartholomew, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Carl. What brings me here? hmm... Carl thought to himself, his left hand had reached the brown bag and was gently caressing it.

I would guess a bit of boredom and the lust to once again see a battlefield. If you have any problems please feel free to to contact me, I will always be at service. Carl gave the man a smile as he inspected the mans long black hair. I bet it's soft and nice like silk The image of his own hand drenched in blood slowly pulled through the mans long black hair played before his eyes. Carl's smile darkened a bit, looking more wickedly.

((Just for reference Carl won't actully try to kill anyone, atleast not unless he can be certain that he won't be disturbed for a few days ))

Kuno'jii makes a mental note to make sure not to be caught alone with either of the humans while in the monastery.

And yet I supposed ta be de creepy one... He snorts to himself, and leaves the pink-skins to their business.

"So, when we be gettin' dis unda way, eh? Wormrot be gettin' hungreh. And Im stahten' to agree wid 'im."

The ghoul was currently running around the courtyard in pursuit of a chicken that had caught his eye. He jabbered and drooled, clumsily pouncing after the bird, entertained at least for the moment.

Heh, yes you will see dame. Kevin leaned against his horse and waited as a few more people showed up. None really caught his attention, save for the cleric but he doubted this Millard would be willing to teach him anything of the shadow. So instead of joining the brutes in conversation he contented himself with his favorite past time. The tiny orb of fire flew in and out, up and down, and around his hand as he enjoyed his own private game.
