IMO it's worth the buy now over waiting for a steam sale. I mean what else are you going to play? The next good RPG to come out is ME3, and that's a sci-fi/shooter, so who knows when the next bit of fantasy goodness comes out? Probably Diablo 3/Guild Wars 2 neither of which will be out until June-ish
To add onto this it seems spme textures were altered/made more spiffy(kite shield for one now has designs on it) and yeah glitches are gone. I've had a few slowdowns but that's probably more from my 14-16 hour marathon play session than the game. I mean that's GOTTA put some pressure on a PS3.

I don't like how the shield spell is so massive when I am forced into third person with a fixed camera view distance
Don't believe anything you read in this signature.
Except the link to my armoury, you can believe this.
    Or can you?

The camera being so crappy AND too slippery, even at MINIMAL sensitivity turned me off instantly. It was so hard to control yourself. Max I would ever consider is around $20 :\

As of right now I'm lvl 29 or 30 on easy mode, just got my own fucking castle and I'm stoked as hell about it.
Started as a "warrior" using 2h swords and just rocking through things like they were paper, now I'm a "rogue" slashing away with Fae blades.
I'm considering going a mix between the warrior and rogue now since I got a full set of warrior gear which is incredible and I love the hack'n slash feel of assasin.

Played it all day today. (pc version)

Combat is so damned fun, story is pretty good but not amazing, lots of detail for a new ip, interface isnt the best in the world but its serviceable. Questing is cool so far,

lots of value for money length wise it seems. ton and tons of side stuff to do.

Talent system etc is all cool and offers a good bit of freedom to play the type of hero you want. A bit more spell variation for the Sorcery tree would have been nice but again its fitting with the arcadey combat so im not too bothered.

The combat really sells it for me, i haven't played an rpg this juicy in ages. couple that with the level of detail they have given the lore and im a happy happy camper. i feel like im playing all of my favourite rpg games of the last few years in one game atm.

I liked it but it was just too easy even on hard difficulty. I actually decided to just stop doing side quests so I could move to different areas and maybe find something hard. The result was me slapping the final boss without finding anything challenging. It suffers like Skyrim did with crafting items but even if I don't use them I will still become unstoppable with just my talents. Unless I play some gimped spec that makes no sense at all I'm going to become a god very quick, and if I do play a gimped spec the combat will suck.

I wish games would have a Dark Souls difficulty so I can actually get involved in the game rather than feeling like a god. Sure Dark Souls isn't some extremely hard game but it punishes you if you don't pay attention which is more than a lot of games can say.

So I only have two complaints about this game.

One is that there is no Codex like element for a game overflowing with lore. Generic lore? You bet, but organized generic lore is just fine.
The other is that they don't use a system like Mass Effect's Career Profiles. Could we all agree that this is a damn good mechanic? No one accidentally deletes a career profile, and god knows you can't overwrite careers. I seriously just reflexively overwrote my 12 hour in Mage with a half hour Rogue.

Beyond those two nitpicks I would say that this game, while being far less open, exceeds Skyrim in quality. It's infinitely more replayable and your race choice doesn't make everything else seem pointless is you pick 'wrong', combat is more balanced and fluid regardless of where you put points. Overall, great game; get it.

Mage T13 is alright, I guess. It's a bit bland and doesn't really say Mage but there is nothing that looks really bad about it...

Except that it as a clockwork, orange set.

Bought it on saturday (PC version)

    In plus:

    • Nice, colorfull graphics
    • Fun, fast paced combat system
    • Three classes that you can mix however you want without handicap. Warrior-mage, thief-warrior or even warrior-thief-mage? Possible.
    • Tons of content, I've played for around 15h and I've only done about a half of first zone (out of 4) doing all quests I could find
    • Bloody good world design and badass looking equipment
    • Lots of tasty high-fantasy lore
    • It is a new IP, we like new good IP's
    • It is basically what Fable should have been from very beginning
    • Runs smoothly even on not so new PCs

    In minus:

    • KoA:R requires ****n Origin account...
    • Thanks EA for Online Pass in singleplayer RPG, your war on used games is looking more and more ridiculous every day
    • weak, unsatysfying character creator
    • Non memorable NPCs made by ctrl+C ctrl+V method
    • Inability to zoom out the camera
    • Object popup
    • Semi-open world and your character is unable to jump, after Skyrim - not fun at all
    • Tons of very medicore quests
    • Lack of dialogue options

7+/10 - that means it is a GOOD game

The problem is that you have to login to Origin, aka have the Origin Client running at least once every time you start the game.
Some people really don't want to use the Origin Client (aka me), so even though I bought the game and am enjoying it, I immediately after the Install got rid of Origin and found me another .exe on the internetz which works without Origin.

PS: Not entirely sure, but I believe it is kind of like the non-Origin-exe for Battlefield 3... but again, not entirely sure.

    >Bought game on steam
    >Don't need Origin client (though steam keeps telling me I need to enter a serial key whenever I start the game, and after 12 hours of gameplay I still haven't had to enter it o_0)

I'm absolutely loving my Sorcery/Finesse character. Slashing away with daggers or faeblades, then just blink away when the combo is done and throw fire to their faces. So damn fun.

And I don't really see where people calling it easy are coming from, I've had plenty of challenges - possibly because I'm playing like a total noobcake, but still, I'm not finding it easy per se. It does annoy me when the game prompts me asking if I'd like to reduce my difficulty after banging my head against a particular fight a couple of times though. NO, damn you game, I didn't spend the last fifteen minutes trying to figure out the optimal strategy just to breeze through it in God mode.

Got this game last friday on EU release date and loving it so far. Combat is mad fun! I'm a Finesse/Sorcery character with Faeblades and Chakrams (Chakrams are so awesome it's entirely impossible not to use them). I've been playing on the hardest difficulty and the fights are really fun. I got my own house which lets you change your char's appearance which is a nice addition. Overall pretty good game, love the graphics and gameplay but it also has a few annoying issues like the fixed camera, and console port UI.

The special kill animations in KoA aren't good? o________0

The fatalities in KoA are pretty cool.

Also, I love zipping around on my rogue character, I almost feel like Sonic.

    honestly-there-is-so-much-more-i-could-criticize-Skyrim-for-that-its-amazing-to-me-how-you're-pretending-to-criticize-KoA-for-something-so-petty.

I already have 4 complete playthroughs on the demo (only because I have yet to purchase the full game - and not for lack of wanting), and I'm absolutely loving it. Yes, some things could be improved - but isn't it better to look on what a game is good at instead of what it's bad at?

Personally, I love the combat, the customization of abilities, and the overall feel of the world (again, this is based solely on the demo). I also love the fact that in 45 minutes I can't possibly hope to complete more than a few quests - these things, and the statements I've seen on different reviews (plus the devs) about how long the game can be, give me great hope as to the value for money. Not only can a single playthrough last over 200 hours, but I'm fairly certain I'll be more than glad to do it all again as a completely different character.

And stealth kills look pretty good, in my opinion (reckoning mode kills look even better).
