So now the question becomes: do I want to wait for aftermarket coolers, or do I want to order one and do it myself? I'm worried that if I wait too long, they will all go out of stock. Hmmmm...

Oh, lookie what was in my inbox this morning:

    http://www.newegg.com/GTX680/?nm_mc=...rd-_-promoword

Seriously, I'm trying to resist buying one and waiting until the series of Kepler cards after the 680....but they're testing my willpower, and my bday is Monday! /shakesfist

It looks like it's officially for sale: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130768

AAHHHH, they're all out of stock on Newegg already! Well, all but the Galaxy, but that'll be gone soon.

I'm going to wait for the DCII card if I'm buying a 600series.

  5. #225
Yeah, should only be a few weeks, right?

But maybe there are problems with the bigger chips and the decision is not only profit driven.
as far as i know, radeon took all the factories' resources and nvidia cant produce any additional cards at the moment. moreover, there will not be enogh 680 for everyone, they simply couldnt force any factory to stop producing radeon crap and switch to 680 because radeon signed the deal earlier, and we'll have to wait before they fullfill it.

"the real 680" will be presented in august/september

I like how blatantly nVidia-fan you're presenting yourself as.

Anyway, biggest reason I want to wait for the DCII is for this. I didn't realize how absolutely awesome the card looks with that backplate before.

  10. #230
Do you have a source on that agracul? This 680 already outperforms the 7970 in most benchmarks, so I think I'm content with it, I can't really wait until August/September anyway...

Over here it all depends on what site you get it from/which make you decide to get.
    (UK)

Not in the US Drunken. The cheapest 7970 on NewEgg is $549.99, all of the 680s are $499.99.

  17. #237
any1 know a gd place to get the new gtx680 as i am looking in getting 2 running in SLI (i am in the UK) i seen overclockers prices but it looks like it will be cheaper to get 2 from the us and get them shipped over

Thus why I added "here," the differences float entirely from one to another.

  19. #239
Yeah, I know, I was just pointing out that there is a considerable difference between the two here in the US.

$50 cheaper for a bit more performance seems like a no-brainer, I guess it's good I waiting on ordering a video card lol. I was very close to ordering a 7970 a couple days ago.

There isnt really any performance difference between them other than benchmarks, in games the FPS is indentical between the 2, but yeah, still $50 cheaper so as you said, a no brainer.
