Alright, so I've been talking to this girl for a couple months. We both like each other. I asked her to date me, but she said she gets committed in relationships and she doesn't want to make such a big commitment right now. Anyway, that's just sort of the backstory.

I was talking to her on the phone tonight and I talked to her for about an hour. She's extremely shy and doesn't talk much so most of the time it's me talking.I'm kind of extroverted, so it usually ends up just fine when we talk. I had to hang up because a friend needed me. To be honest, you did a good move in my opinion, whether you meant to or not, to answer that question would get rid of a lot of the chase, excitement etc and we all know quite often the chase is often better than the end product, especially if you've already discussed it at huge length over the phone with her in an exaggerated manor. Maybe you could have said something like 'I guess you'll have to find out' or something along those lines but we're all geniuses in hindsight and after the conversation is over.

No, not the most constructive advice in this thread.. If you ever fall for someone, don't just let it go. Doesn't matter your age, your feelings will stay the same until you're over it. I would actually continue to flirt with a "damn, this could get messy" kinda angle to it. That's not too full on but makes it clear you'd hit it. She can be all confident and it's basically like it's her idea so she won't feel too pressured etc. You definitely got the green light tho yup.
