Ways to tell a vanilla player from a Cata player

For me, it's when I see someone get atop the goldshire inn using the mailbox to jump onto the roof. Share some ways how you guys tell them apart!

A vanilla player will usually spend the entire night wiping, and as long as people are learning, will remain quiet and content. If you started the night wiping at 90% and ended at 85%, he would call it progress. I find the newer age players can't handle an entire night of wiping.

I was in Naxx earlier and we wiped because the tank though we could kill Thaddius without learning the fight a bit at least first, he said "were all 85, thought it would be easy for the achiev"

The moaning actually started in vanilla, shocking, I know.

For me, I typically see them with a item that was difficult to get at the time, but not many had gotten it since then. Examples are a few raid items, granted you could have gone back to get them during BC, wrath... but I don't know many who did that.

Benediction/Anathema comes to mind as the big one for me.

You can usually tell the Vanilla players apart because they're the ones moaning about how Vanilla was better.. or how they are better than you or their opinions are more valid because they've been playing for 7 years.

Oh and they complain about how the game is SOOOO much easier than it used to be.

vanilla people will always try to clear brd completely when it pop's in queue, and they know what a draconian deflector is

I always talk but it tends to be generic/humour/whatever not about the dungeon or the people in it.

When someone is generally quiet, but good, in a heroic.
When someone has Vanilla-only stuff, lol.
