Remember queuing on one of my alts recently and getting Dire Maul - North.
Me: "Hey, let's do a tribute run!"
Everyone else: "Huh? What's that?"
Me: /sad panda face, followed by me explaining what it was and being accused of lying.
Me: "Alright, do any of you know who Ivus or Lok are in AV?"
Same response
Me: /sad panda face
Also, any paladin/warlock with the items required to do their epic mount questline (still love the lock one).

How to tell the difference between a vanilla and cata player.
Do nothing.
If they are from vanilla they will brag about it constantly :P

Tell me, do you remember Force/Pacifist from vanilla Lewl? Those were the days...
Another way to tell a Vanilla player is that they generally are more welcoming than most newcomers, are more content with small grinds, and generally are less QQ when it comes to raid performance. They will try to better themselves when needed without getting butthurt about it either
Oh, and Linken's Sword of Masteryand The Unstoppable Force :P

Anyone have seen Mankrik's wife?
act like an ass
if they're old they'll accuse you of being new
if they're new they'll accuse you of being old
pretty cut and dry
Not much.
If you wannna make a funny thread make one about what tells a pvp'er from a pve'er. Much more funny.

Played Field Marshal in vanilla, and I'd rather poke my eye out than to do that again. (yes I know it took no skill, 2400+ exp in all brackets season 6-7-8-9 tyvm)
Also did mc, bwl, both those anh q things.
Now I wouldnt touch pve with a 20 feet pole so in that sense I played 2 completely different games.
Stupid pveshite at 60, some pve in wrath, no pve what so ever in cata. Too damn easy and if your raidmembers arent pvpers they are most likely retards who will wipe you, not relying on that again![]()

Dizzy One Eye's other eye was a chore to get. I remember going to Thottbot to double check the drop rate, and saw perhaps the funniest comment on the entire site.
It went something like, "I spent over an hour looking for that damn eye. If I could, I would cut his other eye out and shove it right up his ass."
I guess I don't typically pick vanilla players, but I like mounting up on my real amani warbear, and seeing who does too :P
All posts are pve!
Vanilla players will stay in group after 1, 2, 3, 4 wipes etc, as long as progress is made and people are not completely failing at their duties
Cata players leave the second someone dies
A vanilla player will spend 3 minutes before raid to learn a boss strat
A Cata player will decide they are too busy to spend 3 minutes of reading, so will enter a group expecting to be hand fed kills and then proceed to the above leaving when it turns out they actually have to have some level of knowledge and skill
A vanilla player remembers how annoying some BGs were and when some classes/specs where useless in both PvP and PVE, but alsowhen classes were different and thus desired
A Cata player will moan when they get nerfed because they are completely OP and then call out others for QQ when they do the same
