my laptop decided to crash and burn for the final time this morning so its time to build a new computer. I was planning on waiting for ivy bridge but i need something now. I can replace the i5 later..

just want some tips/ideas on this build as it is my first build.

    change SSD to crucial M4

i'd get 2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws X RAM 1600mhz. you don't really need 16gb unless you do some weird crazy work

i7 2600K (not i5 like you listed) is fine for CPU; since you don't seem to have a tight budget i'd stick with that instead of dropping down to the i5 2500K

you'll need a copy of windows as well and a PSU; i'd get a 750W psu to allow for comfortable room later to run a second card in crossfire if needed

the i5 2600K doesn't exist, it's either an i5 2500K or an i7 2600K; $100 difference between the two. if you're planning to upgrade to ivy when it comes, get the i5 2500K now because it's cheaper
