    Gunz new build

I'd like some input or suggestions on this build. Inspiration is taken from Marest's Gaming 1750 and Extreme Gaming 2600 builds, except with dual 6970 GPUs and a Case/PSU from NZXT. I'm planning on purchasing the parts in the next 2-3 weeks.

    Budget: ~2000
    Resolution: 1920 x 1200
Games / Settings Desired: Diablo III, MoP, Guild Wars 2. Settings on high/ultra.
    Country: USA
Parts that can be reused: I don't need hard drives or peripherals.

    MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3P - $179.99
    CPU: Intel i7 2600k - $319.99
    RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 4x4GB - 94.99
    GPU1: Gigabyte Radeon 6970 - $367.86
    GPU2: Gigabyte Radeon 6970 - $367.86
    SSD: Crucial M4 128GB - $184.99
    PSU: NZXT Hale 850W - $179.99
    Heatsink: Noctua NH-D14 - $89.99
Case: NZXT Switch 810 [Available Soon] - $169.99

    Total: $1955.65

At that budget, you might want to consider a bigger SSD... That's pretty much the best improvement you'll get for MMOs with that setup.
Or you could raid 2x SSD ^^

Get rid of the 2600k, go down to the i5 2500k, it's got same performance if not better when it comes to gaming.

Stop acting like a proffesional, if you can't afford it fine, but the 2600k is better, statistics and stuff can be so wrong depending on how you're connecting it. Go all the way for 2600k and don't look back, you really think intels taking a 150 bucks extra for no performance at all?

Stop providing with false information, if there was any difference it would be like 5 frames.
The only extra performance is hyperthreading.

You can't "connect" a processor wrong, you simply slot it in your motherboard.

Instead of crossfiring those 2 cards, you could go for a 7970 and buy a second 7970 later this year, it would be optimal for longetivity IMO.

Heard of if these two are OCed? Which of them would perform best? I told you, I don't trust graphs like this.. I got the 480 but seen the 560ti perform the same as the 480 even though the 480 should be crushing it. Let me just say this.. Hyper-Threading. That should be enough to change the whole thing.

Don't buy 6970, get the 6950 flash it and clock it and you got basically better performance..

As inux94 said, get one 7970 instead of those two 6970s. If you feel in the future like you need more performance, just buy another one

Aren't we about to get new CPU gen from intel and new GPU gen from geForce in about 6 months ? I'd buy cheaper GPU and CPU, specially with those games you have in mind.
I've walked the realms of the dead. I have seen the infinite dark. Nothing you say. Or do. Could possibly frighten me.
We are not monsters! We are not the mindless wretches of a ghoul army! NO! We are a force even more terrifying! We are the chill in a coward's spine! We are the instruments of an unyielding ire! WE ARE THE FORSAKEN!
Those who do not stand with the Forsaken stand against them. And those who stand against the Forsaken will not stand long.

I don't know what you mean by those 2 GPU's, is it WoW? Then that's why. WoW is CPU heavy, not GPU.

Only very few games benefit from hyperthreading. So no.

I'm considering purchasing a 7970, how will my PSU hold up if I decide to buy a second 7970 in the future? NZXT also sells a 1000w version of the PSU I linked.

850W will be fine, and the 7970 is an excellent choice. the 2500k is your best price bet currently, as the 2600k is showing no signs of improving any better. the 2500k even overclocks better due to less heat from HT and more stability. HOWEVER if you do VMs, a lot of video rendering, and lots of multithreaded things, the 2600k wins due to efficiency.

We're expecting Ivybridge this year, but not sure exactly when, and unsure of how much better than sandy it will be.
