And what I'm saying is that just recasting it every 10 seconds isn't necessarily the time to do it either. Particularly in a situation where you haven't proc'd orbs. So I was musing when is it viable to do it?

Is it viable to do regardless of your current orb procs?
Is it viable to substitute some portion of MF channel time to DP GCDs? If so what is that number?
If we do substitute is there a particular method, for example do you always cast DP immediately after MB so your MF channel time is always consecutive?

I don't think it's optimal to automatically refresh DP when it's duration is < 15 seconds. There are more variables that decide when DP is more DPS and the only statement that I can make with 100% accuracy is that DP will be more damage when you already have 3 orbs and you cast it in a fashion that you don't cast DP twice in a row and you don't have to perfectly clip MF immediately after a tick (unless you are some ungodly player who can time that perfect every time, I certainly can't with my ping).

I've been messing around with it, and here's an action list for the BiS setup (has 3202 haste) that spams DP over MF with the MS/MB rotation included. It's actually the same dps (within the margin of error). I have a version that is based off of the default action list that sims 500-700 dps higher than the non ms/mb rotation in BiS gear.

I think there's still some room for improvement in what I've done so far. (Mainly testing what you have brought up Worshaka) I mostly just find it interesting that it's the same dps with both options with MB/MS rotation, and actually more with the old rotation

3202 haste is not BiS anymore with the MS/MB rotation. Adding that mana conditional to mind flay is weird too.

This is what I thought, you go oom (well, 10% mana) very fast, then get back to an alternating MFlaying/DPing with that action list.

When reforged correctly (around 2240 haste), it's definitely a dps loss

Well You're assuming that 2240 haste is the best reforging option when using that action list, which it is not. Thus the 3202 list is most likely the BiS list for that type of rotation. Obviously when you lose the ability to spam DP, it will be a dps loss to try to do so.

The mana conditional is so that when below 10% and swd is on cd, you are flaying rather than waiting.

But yes, they are some interesting results.

Probably no one. Though it has applicability in fight with high-movement. I was merely pointing out that you were discrediting the rotation based off of an assumed gear set which would in itself be sub-optimal. That's all I was trying to point out.

Also, the first action list yields the same dps as the ms/mb action list provided on HTP, just with significantly more running around spamming DP.
