How do you deal with trolls?

I never really visit the official forums anymore, but back in WotLK I used to read my realm forums quite frequently and there were a ton of trolls there. Honestly, I just ignored them. It was a rather small server so I knew pretty much every single one of them so it didn't seem worthwhile to report every other post.

And yeah, seems like serve forum trolls are the worst, on the official forums.

It is actually someone who deliberately uses Logical fallacies in an attempt to make someone try to call them out on it, which is than usually followed by the troll trying to maintain the fallacy is correct.

One could argue that is just a way a troll starts a conflict to get a negative emotional response from the person being trolled.

How's the collection going? I've got a relatively small one, sadly. the Roleplaying forums don't get many unfriendly visitors.

You don't go on the official WoW forums if you want to retain your sanity.
Not even realm forums.
Especially not realm forums.

Ignore them, report if necessary, if not just move on. That's the only possible way to ever deal with a troll.

If you ignore a troll he'll try a little harder and then just give up.

trolling is an art, being a jerk is just mean.
unfortunately some people misclassify some trolling as being jerks.
Remember, if you're getting trolled, you don't usually realize it, whereas blatant namecalling/other crap is different.
