    I don't.

    Family Guy's or American Dad's humor have been dumbed down lately. Just last nights episode of American Dad (keep in mind I watch normally when there is nothing to do on the computer or school) was about Stan wanting to protect the past. What really pissed me off about this episode was how all of a sudden Stan seemed to have good experiences in High School. While before in most of his episodes he was seen as a loser in HS. Not to mention it was a typical AD setup where one character has a problem that has a painfully obvious resolution but instead they do the stupid way. Such as Stan learning that he has to live in the present and forget about the past... like what? Didn't he learn this setup before? Like in the Prom Queen episode? Not to mention their bit on the people carrying the window glass horizontally instead of vertically and some guy runs through it, gets cut in half, somehow is alive, and a crippled person uses the persons bleeding cut up legs and is somehow able to walk.... I didn't laugh but I got a big WTF in my mind.

    Maybe I am just getting old and I am finally starting to realize what is funny and what isn't. But I do know this though. I still find some of the old Simpsons episodes funnier than the new ones. Same situation with FG and AD.

    It also sucks that all 3 of Macfarlane's shows, Family guy, Cleveland Show and American Dad are using the exact same animation and art style. Making these shows pretty much clones of each other, no wonder Seth can't come up with good stuff anymore, he has 3 exact same shows to take care off.

    Matt Groening did a much better job, he has the Simpsons for present time stuff and Futurama for futuristic stuff. And the art style & animations are completely different and still likeable. I don't remember why Matt made the Simpsons skin color yellow anyway, but it doesn't matter because it suits them perfectly.

    If anything, Matt should've been the one making a new Flintstones. Think of it:

    Futurama = future

    Simpsons = present

    Flintstones = past

    See the pattern? Suits perfectly.

    I really wonder exactly what happened with Groening and his connection to both shows. Futurama was started by Groening and Cohen right about the time that The Simpsons started to decline. I wonder if their focus was not shifted a little too much, just as what happened with Seth and his team.

    It was Fox that went to the creators of both shows and asked for new additions. I just can't shake the fact that both Simpsons and Family Guy both started to decline after their creators had another outlet.

    I just wonder how both series would have done if the focus was never shifted. Obviously the new shows are popular, but at what cost?

    Not as much as the earlier seasons, but it's still got it's share of great humor.

    I loved family guy growing up (20)...The newest episodes, however, seem very lackluster. Lately I find myself just deleting them in my Hulu queue rather than watching them.

    Hell Yeah its still funny

    I don't. I've stopped purchasing episodes since Season 3. The comedy has definitely gotten a bit stale. Some of the parodies are still good though.

    I think that the older seasons, 2006+ were amazing, but now they're declining..

    Yes! I love Family Guy it's still one of my favorite shows. I don't mind that it has changed in all the ways people are saying, it hasn't changed in a bad way to me.*

    Never really liked family guy much, but american dad is just awesome. Funny how the same guy can make a series I don't really care for, and another series I absolutely love.
    Also cant stand cleveland show...*

    But I still think simpsons is the best

    well FG is written by manatees what do u expect?

    honestly the first few seasons were ok but the show lost its appeal pretty quickly.. Southpark summed it up really well about how they just throw out gags that dont make sense or drag scenes on way after the laughter has faded.

    I only watched the old late night repeats, I have no idea how the show is turning out in it's current series as we don't get them where I live. So I can't say whether I'd still like it or whether it's turned into how the Simpsons ended up in the later series. I hope not, anyway...

    Since im not American some of the jokes do go over my head, and the current season has been a hit and miss for me so far.

    If ya go to Hulu.com you can watch the newest episodes 8 days after they air(unless ya get Hulu+ in which case you can watch immediately)

    I appreciate the show for what it is, which is an attempt to be the next progression of The Simpsons. I think it succeeds at that, because it is at least as funny and still manages to work in some more thought-developing content. However, I don't think it's worth watching on the whole anymore.

    To be quite frank, it's amazing that any series that makes it past its 6th season maintains any level of quality or interest. Family Guy is still funny on occassion, but how can you *really* keep a gag show fresh over so many years?

    Take the Simpsons for example, some people still love it, but most recognise that it's stale and just not interesting at all any more.
