It also controls access to the relay to the collector base and which is something that Cerberus controls. Cerberus alone considering it a major asset is enough for the Citadel and/or Systems Alliance to consider it a worthwhile target.

Ashley is actually a geth which is revealed in the end as she assists Saren because Shepard chose the obvious Liara after 90 minutes of awkward love comedy and 20 minutes of blasting and 10 minutes of toadpolitics
Shepard still saves her and keeps her secret safe because its a fun movie for the entire family.

In the case of a romantic comedy, we'd see Adam Sandler as male Shepard, or in case females, Drew Barrymore. Since Adam's rolodex is the largest one in the world, we'd have appearances from Drew Carey as a bartender, Nicholas Cage as Kaidan and Al Pacino as Steve Hackett.
As Adam goes straight for winning all the Razzies for a second time, he'd play Matriarch Benezia and make "hillarious" remarks on Asari sex and toilet culture.
Liara, played by Katherine Heigl, goes for a dangerous mission with EDI, played by Megan Fox. (A robot somehow fits her.) They are accompanied with Anderson, who is played by Kevin James because it would fit better with their artistic vision of the movie.
The jokes are written by Adam Sandler and Chuck Lorre, who squeezes in a prostitution or alcohol reference in every other line while making the other races extremely stereotypical versions of real life people. Asari are French women who think about sex, Salarians are geeks, and Krogan are not so smart. (The total amount of krogan falling or charging into a wall takes a minimum of 25 minutes of screen time, only to be rivaled by Adam Sandler's Shepard firing his gun in his own face, tripping over stairs, and yet again, hillariously failing to perform vaulting over cover.)
Directed by Shyamalan, the inevitable twist is that the movie was actually directed by Uwe Boll instead and edited by Shyamalan.
