I don't doubt that the gay community will more heavily favor Democrats. Same way the disenfranchised usually vote Democratic. But I was a poor man voting Republican, and gay men and women will likewise vote Republican in what would seem like a self-defeating voting choice.

Dude, this isn't just about "married". They have laws preventing them from adopting, or even getting civil unions. Even more states have laws that don't even recognize ones that were married/civil union'ed.

Take the time and read my links, please. Gay people can be, and are fired for being gay. You, a straight man(I assume?), can be fired for being straight. It's not affirmative action, it's anti-discrimination. Just like the civil rights act made it so you can't fire someone for being black.
